There are about 10 locations In Lagos now where big celebrities and high-profile personalities love to live. These are choice locations on the Island.
Having a good home in Lagos is like having a fortune in a bank that will always appreciate. Lagos houses will always appreciate, so having a home at the center of excellence is a big deal. Yet, so many people are even scared to check out properties for sale in Lagos because of the notion that properties in Lagos are very expensive. This is not totally correct because some properties in Lagos are relatively affordable. Do you know that you can buy a beautiful house in Lagos for as low as 8,000,000 NGN? Even if you can’t afford to buy one, just check these out and work towards buying one.
The first on the list is Sangotedo: This community is between Ajah and Abijo. It’s a 3 minutes drive from Ilaje roundabout Ajah. What makes it a choice location is the proximity to Ajah. The new Shopping mall which has Shoprite as the tenant is also another point. Another reason is that many housing estates in Sangotedo have been attracting a lot of people. Land in Sangotedo and environs now cost about 20 to 25 million naira per plot, while a standard duplex sells for an average of 50 million naira.
Another location is Ogombo road. This road is also known as Abraham Adesanya road. It’s a prime area now for real estate investment. Ogombo is a road on Abraham Adesanya Road, Ajah. A lot of real estates firms have positioned themselves there. Presently, land on the road is about 25 to 30 million naira. More than 10 real estate firms have positioned themselves there. Talking about houses; Landwey investment has been selling a block of flats in its newly built estate on Ogombo road at a very affordable rate. This is new destination celebs are looking forward to living.
Another location where celebrities are buying land and houses is Orchid Road, Lekki. This is definitely the hub of development in Lekki especially. Many real estate tycoonS have moved there. The likes of Nedcomoaks, Empire Homes, and many others are doing good on that axis. Among celebs who just acquired properties on the axis is Former BBN winner Mercy Eke. She bought her house from the newly built Victoria Crest, a development of Nedcomoaks.
Chevy view estate is another location along Chevron drive, off the 7th roundabout (chevron roundabout) of the Lekki – Epe expressway, and directly opposite the head office of Chevron Nigeria Limited. It is arguably a 30 minutes drive to Victoria Island during rush hour traffic (when using the shortcut route inside the estate) and 10 minutes without traffic (typically during weekends).
The estate isn’t exclusively residential as there are a number of businesses located within it, ranging from schools and hotels to offices for various companies. Non-residents can enter the estate freely, although there are sometimes searches on cars entering and leaving the estate.
Most of the residential buildings in the estate are duplexes (semi & fully detached; terraces) and most of the residents are upper-class high-income earning families. Many of the buildings were built by estate developers who buy lands, build and sell-off. Property appreciation within the estate is high because of its location, the environment, and much-reduced traffic duration when compared to places further down towards Ajah. The estate is quite similar to the Ikota villa estate but is more expensive.
Ibeju-Lekki: another location where a lot of people have said it’s the hub of the real estate sector in Nigeria. A lot of people have moved down there because of the property appreciation. Below are reasons why you should invest in Ibeju Lekki
Dangote Refinery & Petrochemical Plant. Lekki Free. Trade Zone. New International Airport. New Deep. Sea Port. 4th Mainland Bridge. Lagos Smart City. Chinese Free Trade Zone. Lagos Free Trade Zone. Lagos Private Golf Beach Resort. Insignia (Makers of Indomie & Power Oil). Several other amazing developments. These projects are a strong indication that the value of land in this area will soon compete with that of Victoria Island and Lekki. In 1996 a plot of land in Lekki was N8 million, today a plot sells for up to N100 million.
Epe is also proving to be another location where real estate investors have been moving to in recent times. Don’t forget a massive project by Rendezvous called Alaro City. It’s one of the biggest projects in Nigeria today and a lot of real estates activities are ongoing there. Talk of land and other related businesses, Alaro City is doing great.
