The Lagos social circle came alive on the 13th of April, 2019, as many Lagos society women moved in droves to the 3 major parties that shook the whole of Lagos its foundation in one day. The parties which had been on the lips of many Lagos society women and men would forever linger on the minds of those who attended. The remark is not just because the weddings were classy but largely because of the prominent families whose kids tied the nuptial knot.
Not only did Lagos stand still for the weddings they also provided opportunities for many Lagos society big wigs to mingle and socialize for many hours. Do we need to say that weddings also boosted the commercial activities of the ever-bubbling Lagos? Well, many celebrity vendors would not forget in a hurry the 3 society big weddings that made them racked in millions in 1 day.
The first society wedding that declared the day opened was the wedding of Funke Fowler, the pretty daughter of Mr Tunde Fowler, who is the boss at Federal Internal Revenue. Tunde Fowler’s daughter, Olufunke, took a shot at marriage again and it was so visible that she has found her pearl in Aigbovbiose, the younger brother of Aig-Imoukhuede. Aig-Imonikhuede is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc.
The beautiful bride, who beamed with a smile throughout the party, has found permanent happiness after her first marriage to Abiodun Abi Kuku, the last son of the late Chief Bayo Kuku, crashed over irreconcilable differences. The much talked about wedding, which paraded many Naija big millionaires, business tycoons and socialites were one of the most talked-about wedding Penultimate Saturday, 13th of April, 2019.
The high profile wedding was held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. It paraded the like of Aliko Dangote and many Nigerian rich men and women. It was a royal blue aso-ebi theme wedding, which has many super-rich people rocking the expensive Aso-Ebi.
The event kicked off with a traditional wedding on Thursday at the bride’s family home in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi. The wedding was attended by the high and mighty in society. It had in attendance Funke’s maternal grandmother, the iconic Chief (Mrs) Leila Apinke Fowler, who played the Chief hostess.
The mother of the bride is Rosemary, an African-American. While her dad, Tunde, a well-connected man who works at FIRS. The groom, Aigbovbioise Aig-Imoukhuede, is a well-respected man in corporate Nigeria. Aigbo, as he is fondly called, is the son of Frank Aig-Imoukhuede, a veteran journalist, poet, playwright and author. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom. Just like her husband, Funke Fowler is the creative director of RTW fashion line, Heritage, which is a high-class brand that is popular among many rich kids.
Just while Funke Fowler was getting married to her new found love and best friend, popular Lagos celeb woman, MS Oyin Benson’s daughter, Laila Isijola, also got married to Handsome Kazeem Abiodun Folami at a popular 10degree Event Centre. The event was a classy one, which had Ogun state Governor, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, and many Ogun commissioners in attendance. The event which was a Burnt Orange and Green affair paraded many Lagos society women because of who the bride’s mum is. She is one of the Grandchildren of popular Benson family of Ikorodu. The groom’s father, HON Olohuntele Folami, is also a popular Lagos Commissioner, who is also well connected.
That was why the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, sent a powerful delegation to represent him. His darling wife, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, was also represented. Governor Ibikunle Amosun was not just an early caller; he spent many hours at the head table gisting with many of his friends and commissioners. He was also the chairman of the event as he gave words of advice to the couple.
One of the high points of the event was when MS Oyin Benson stepped out with her clique of friends who came out to support her Ms Oyin spotted a Burgundy HOH lace worth many thousands of dollars. It was adorned with diamond and Saco shoes. Her second appearance made tongue wagged as she stepped out in Purple Velvet HOH matched with white diamond. Her friends, Mrs Tokunbo Eko, Mrs Busola Okunlaja, Mrs Folake Osinowo Teddy shine to mention a few, rocked the special Aso-Ebi by Alfatia Fabrics. Of course, the Groom family members were not left out as they all dazzled in Green and Orange Aso-Ebi.
Just while Laila and Kazeem wedding, the hashtag “Tailormyheart19” was treading with Funke Fowler wedding, Ogun and Lagos socialites were parting together at the spacious Haven events centre in Ikeja GRA on Saturday 13th of April, 2018. The hall was filled with many Lagos society women, who rocked aso-ebi which was spotted at Funke and Lailas Wedding at Oriental and 10degree, respectively.
It was the day Ogun and Lagos socialites partied together at Thesco Construction and Property’s boss, Prince Muraino Banjoko Son, Olarewaju’s wedding as he also tied the knot with his heartthrob, Debby. Olarenwaju and his new wife, Debby, who flew in from the United Kingdom were cynosures as they danced into the well-decorated hall.
The wedding hashtag “Deblan19” will for a long time be on the lips of many celebs who stormed the event because it was Thresco’s boss first wedding for his kids. He made sure the best hands in the industry were paid handsomely to handle the event. The event was planned by Skoteevents, while the decoration was by “Victoria”. Drinks were served by number 1 celebrity drink vendor, Bola Okorie of Bonix, while Music was supplied the world best Juju King, King Sunny Ade.
Guess what, Governor Ibikunle Amosun was also the chairman of the occasion. That was the 2nd event he would chairman for that day, 13th, April 2019. And it paraded many Ogun and Lagos big men and ladies.
