On Tuesday 16th March 2021, Citypeople Magazine team spent quality time with the new acting leader of Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo at his Lagos home. We had gone to pay him a courtesy call as part of our nationwide visit to many Important Personalities across the country. After officially informing him about our plans for our 25th-anniversary celebration, we had an interview session with him for 3 hours talking about his life and Politics.
“Wow…I didn’t know Citypeople is 25. Congratulations on a job well done. You have been doing a good job for the country. I have followed your Growth. I enjoy reading Citypeople
You not only carry lifestyle and Entertainment stories, but you also publish political stories as well. You have been very consistent in the way you have been arousing public interest in the cause of good governance.
“Please don’t relent. I will like you to continue because the future of this country is in your hands. You people have to lead the fight for yourself. Citypeople is one of the organisations that I believe can carry on the fight because our leaders no longer care or focus on the development & progress of the Youth. The System itself is against the Youth.
“I wish you many more years. My challenge to you, Seye, and your team are to keep telling the youths to stand up for good governance and for their rights. Citypeople must carry on the fight for a better society.
I have played my own part, I have done my own bit. And at the stage at which I am now all I can do is to keep telling you young ones to keep at it, if not you will all suffer for it.”
