President Muhammadu Buhari will not dissolve his cabinet until seven days to the end of this administration, according to Lai Mohammed, minister of information.
Briefing state house correspondents at the end of the federal executive council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice- President Yemi Osinbajo, Mohammed said the president is scheduled to hold a valedictory session with FEC members on May 22 after which the cabinet will be dissolved.
Buhari will be sworn in for a second term on May 29.
Mohammed said as directed by Buhari, cabinet members are already preparing their handover notes to be submitted to permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.
“We will be having a valedictory session on 22nd May. The cabinet remains intact,” he said.
