How do you feel seeing City People honour your husband Hon. Bamigbetan, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy?
I thank God for everything, I feel good, I feel happy, I know it is as a result of his hardwork, perseverance and dedication, he has worked for it, so he really deserves it, so I’m so happy and I give glory unto the almighty God.
What kind of man is Kehinde Bamigbetan? What kind of father, husband is he at home?
My husband is the best husband He’s a very loving husband and father He has been a good husband to me the wife and a good father to our children.
Though he’s not always there, but anytime he’s around, anytime he’s chanced, he always makes himself available to the family. He takes us out; he usually makes up time for the lost ones. Generally, he’s a wonderful man.
Tell me a bit about yourself?
Nana Fatimah Bamigbetan a native of Auchi in Edo State. I attended New Era Girl Secondary School, in Lagos and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife a student of English Language, Faculty of Art. I’m a businesswoman. I’m into rentals and event management. We are blessed with 3 children, a girl and 2 boys.
What was the attraction the first day you met your husband?
I remembered in 1991, we met at a birthday party at which I was one of the RSVP at the party, I just noticed somebody following me around, I was like “what is it Mr. Man, why are you following me up and down,” He said he likes me that was how we became friends He tried to woo me over and I became his wife.
Did you observe anything about him as at that time?
Of course, he has been a hardworking man right from the first day I knew him.
I wasn’t after a man that was already made. I just knew that this man he’s so hardworking. His future would be bright. He’s always on the move, though I’ve not really enjoyed him like husband and wife spending quality time together, but I’m used to it, he is not your regular 8 am to 5 pm husband. He would go in the morning and come back very late that I won’t even know when he comes in. Most of the time I would just makeup in the middle of the night and see him beside me. So I’m used to it and we understand each other perfectly.
How old is your marriage now?
Last year Dec. 26th we celebrated our 19th year wedding anniversary.
What would you say has kept your marriage going considering the kind of man he is and the nature of his job?
Basically, I would say it’s love. You know love keeps a couple together no matter what. Then, understanding and patience. I understand the kind of work he does. I understand he’s somebody that is always on the move and very restless.
My husband cannot come home without having achieved something tangible for the day, he would still go back to his home office, sit down and start working again until maybe 2 am before he sleeps. So he’s a very hardworking person, and I don’t think I’ve even doubted his loyalty his honesty and love for me.
Did you even imagine him becoming a politician?
No, because I don’t even like politics, but he’s there already and there is nothing we can do than to support him with constant prayers. I can say I’m getting used to the system.
You seem to be a quiet person. How have you been coping with your husbands status that would definitely rub off on you? How has it tampered with your privacy?
Actually, my husband has been putting his home into consideration. He has separated his home from his office he has a special place that he attends to his people. He has really separated the politician life from family life, and I think we are coping.
What is that thing that you admire in your husband most?
He’s a very loving man. Even though he’s not always there, but he knows what he’s supposed to do at the right time. He knows how to make me happy. He knows where to take me, he knows what to do, he knows everything that I love and I think with that he’s my man any day any time.
