As the countdown to the governorship elections in Oyo State draws near, City People Magazine can authoritatively reveal that the Oyo PDP candidate, Engineer Seyi Makinde has intensified his strategies to beat his main rival, Bayo Adedibu, the APC governorship candidate. He has over the last few weeks been reaching out to other governorship candidates in the state to join hands with him to win the elections.
The general believe is that the battle for who becomes the next Oyo governor is going to be a straight battle between Seyi Makinde and Bayo Adedibu, and both have been lobbying other governorship candidates to work with them. And Seyi Makinde feels he will have an upper hand this Saturday when the election takes place. His supporters feel she has 5 key things working for him. One is the fact that positive public perception keeps rising daily. Two, the loss of Gov. Ajimobi at the senatorial election and how he couldn’t deliver Oyo State for Buhari. Three, the received anti-masses policies of Gov. Ajimobi, particularly over payment of school fees. Engr Makinde said “if deprived people or most vulnerable are not able to sleep because they are hungry, the well-to-do will also not be able to sleep” hence his quest to find a lasting solution to the problem and helping the less privilege ones and their next generation to move away from that class has been his top priority.
With a successful track record of leadership in cross-functional teams, Makinde’s passion to serve his people and offer his candidature for the position of Oyo state Governor is driven by the plight of the people that are currently belittled by poor leadership and mismanagement of state resources.
