Did you go for any training?
I went to a Cosmetic School in Dubai. But they really don’t base their teaching on our skin type. But I try to merge all skin types. Ok. Our wants is more dangerous. We are one-way. We don’t use the Sunscreen. Some don’t even know what the sunscreen is. and the sunscreen is the No 1 beauty component we have. If you use the sunscreen, the sun cannot penetrate directly into your skin you will not age fast.
So you advise women to use Sunscreen…
Yes. They should always stay on Sunscreen. If you now break out on Sunscreen. If you now break out on Sunscreen it means you have not actually found what is good for your screen. People should go for more waterbased sunscreen. It can be very crazy but it is good. We try to put in 20% of the ACF in all of our products. We always advise, don’t do the lightening component during the day because of the sun. Do more of a Moisturizer that will protect your skin in the morning. And in the evening when the weather is cool, when you really don’t have too much activity you can now apply something else. We should not forget healing takes place more when the body is at rest. That is why most of our own lightening products we usually advise you use them at night. We are coming up with new products that will make people to be more comfortable even in their naughty routine.
What mistakes do women make with their skin that usually get them into trouble?
So, many. The factors that make your skin unhealthy, break out, tired, looking old, women generally look older in Nigeria. One because the Economy is not helping. There is pollution. Then we don’t Detox. We should always learn to detox when we eat. Some will pass out. Some will remain there. They should come out. Its only the Vitamins that should remain there. Some don’t know they should always Detox. Having enough sleep and plenty for water goes a long way. Cigarette is not good. It breaks the process of collagen on your skin it’s not good. That is why it is very difficult for a smoker to have good skin. Why? Because of the flames pollution and the intake on the lungs and most times you don’t detox.
Most times, I always advise our women to all do the 5 stages to support their creams. They should do their facials, detox, have good rest, eat healthy (eat vegetables and Tomatoes alone. Cultivate a habit of taking Tomatoes) and stay habit (No matter the situation of things). Then, always smile every time.
You like looking natural and refreshing. How have you achieved that?
Because I don’t push my skin. I don’t push myself. I always leave my skin to inbreathe. The skin has the capacity to heal. You can’t be doing one thing for 365 days and you don’t expect it to get tired. I leave my skin to breathe. I don’t cream every time I go for my Massage. There are some points on the skin and on the body that when they massage it and they press it allows for proper it spreads up the blood circulation. Once blood does not circulate well around the body it makes the skin look bad.
I take my time to make my skin heal itself. I am never is a rush to take that skin problem off my feeling. I have realised that using the chemical & harmful stuff, yes they work faster. But they have a long term damage effect. But when you allow your skin to heal naturally, supporting it with some plant-based extracts, it might take time, but you will have a long time skin peace of mind. And when you come out, people will not differentiate if you are actually using lightening component stuff.
Do you know some people cannot wait for normal 3 days for their skin to heal? They just want it sharp-sharp sharp. It damages the skin cells and it takes longer time to heal, even if it looks finer on the surface. So, when you push your skin to the limit and it refuses to respond that is when you see all those why dark sports. It looks so irreparable. It looks like nothing can ever be done to it, to correct it. Instead of accepting treatment, it will be going vice-versa. I have great plans for my clients I am planning to get to a point where people will come in like admit them and treat them.
I will admit them. I will observe them and know the next step. We are getting to that point by Gods grace. We are getting to the point where we would have to kidnap these women and treat them for their own good. They need to understand and that is why I do those videos to explain to them.
We often hear women talk about some terminologies like Toning, Lightening, Brightening, whitening what are the differences in all these terms? And what do you advise?
The truth is that it depends on your skin tone. There are Type 1 to Type 6. The Type 1 and 2 are the Oyinbos. For Nigerians that is Type 3, 4 and 5. Some Nigerians from Type 5 want to move to Type 2. In the real sense, does it make sense? It’s a gradual process. You will get there. But its a gradual process. If you do it the fast way, you will run in back the fast way. You will age quickly. I advise women to just take it easy. And the right way is something that will smoothen the skin, and make the skin glow, toning it up a little bit because the process of that is making sure that the dirt on the first layer of the skin is cleared. If the skin is clear it helps.
Some people don’t even know they should scrub their skin every 2 or 3 times a week. If you do that naturally, there is no way dust will rest on your skin. If you scrub naturally and follow some of the routines you should follow on a good day, the skin will be brightened. All you need to do is to take out dirt off the surface of your skin. And the lightening is probably giving you all shades, like one or 2 shades to your skin, and whitening is giving shades. You can achieve it, but the process is longer. When you don’t have patience for your skin, you will spoil it. If you rush it, you will achieve whitening but it won’t be even. You will look dirty. That is when you will see some ladies and you will know these lady is using cream on her skin. they smell. They sweat a lot and they can easily come up with some illness.
Many need to learn more about the skin. The skin is the biggest organ we have. The skin is powerful. So we should always be conscious and careful with what we apply on our skin. Our society is not even helpful because everywhere is polluted. You don’t scrub your skin and now you add lightening components to it. Imagine that in your head. Are you doing justice to your skin? And don’t forget, there are so many health issues around right now.
Yes. Anybody can suffer health problems. But there are some health problems if you manage it very well you will live long. If you don’t, you will have yourself to blame.
What services do you offer?
A whole lot. Apart from the formulation of skincare products, we do facials, we do a lot. In skincare business, we feel everything is connected. We believe the Body, the Mind and The Soul are connected. So, we don’t just enhance the physical features alone. We also feel there are some things you can be doing that will enhance your spiritual life, that could help you leave a better life. We do cropping facials. I don’t want to extend that. There are so many features. There are so many things happening that we just started. The way I operate is this when a client comes for a consultation, I get to see them, I get to observe them and understand their state of mind. There are some clients that I actually prescribe a massage for before they come in for facials. Yes. Because I need them to be at that state of rest. We need to pinpoint some areas that will make their nerves rest, to receive treatments we do all body works, spiritual bath, ritual bath, which is the normal thing you do every day when you wake up. It goes beyond waking up, bathing and rubbing cream.
We also have skin ritual. We don’t mean ritual in the negative sense. We mean the routine things you do. When we say skin rituals, we mean what do you do 1st, we have this bath ritual when I see you, I will know what your skin wants and what I think you need.
