May I meet you?

I am Rosemary Emeka Iwezor. I am from Rivers State and the name of my company is ROSBINNA Ltd, Rosbinna Ltd started on 11th of May, 1997 at Port Harcourt Rivers State Nigeria.

What are your areas of specialization in the fashion industry?

My areas of specialization include female outfit and Kiddies outfit but we are trying to unveil the men outfit soon. ROSBINNA LTD is an indigenous fashion company of international repute that has over the years proved its standards and etched its remarkable style, and class upon the worlds glamorous fashion. This is epitomized in the number of creme de la creme wardrobes that house our ever carefully Crafted and knitted designs. In all humility and without recourse to self-praise, we have done wonderfully well for ourselves and the society at large. We major in fashion and decorative crafts, and like we all know, there is a representation of fashion in every facet of our human existence, more so as fashion is defined as the accepted look, the prevailing style.

What motivated you to go into the fashion industry?

I, Rosemary Emeka Iwezor, I am the artist of garnishment in fashion parlance, or more conventionally the Managing Director of the fashion empire of ROSBINNA. I started it like every other ardent lover of fashion, but exceptionally with more passion, vigor, dexterity and intelligence…Talking about intelligence, I got schooled at the reputable Shelton Institute of Fashion and Design, in the United Kingdom where I sharpened my innate talents which is for a greater course…The prestigious London Fashion School, a place where International Arts congregate and get honed for impressive outcomes took me in afterward.

Right from when I was a child, I used to tell my mum that I will do fashion, she will say ”‘My daughter, Tailor work no, no it will not work. You have to go to the university first’”, I told her that I will do fashion first…to cut the long story short she accepted because I like using my hands to create anything I lay my hands on. Well, it is the passion that I have for it that motivated me to go into it.

How has it been so far since you started?

Since I started this fashion business, it’s been a good one and I must tell you there is no business that doesn’t have its challenges but all the same fashion business is good. The fashion empire of ROSBINNA is one of such impressive outcomes, debuted as ROSSY CREATION in 1997, metamorphosed into ROSBINNA in 2010, now has chains of improvements like the ROSBINNA  FASHION ACADEMY (ROFA), Rosbinna Accessories, Rosbinna lingerie, Rosbinna makeover and so much. Rosbinna fashion Academy is a fashion school with a world-class signature, within its few years of operation, the school has trained and churned out numerous professional busy brains of fashion. Nonetheless, as a sign of good faith and spirit of corporate social responsibility, the academy has also awarded full-time scholarships to numerous students, all in a bid to enhance growth and entrepreneurship in our society. The school runs two comprehensive sessions, viz-a-vis Basic and Advanced. ROSBINNA as a characteristic fashion house has graced many runways locally and internationally to prove its mettle amongst other renowned designers, and to showcase the depth of its unmatchable originality…one of such originality got played out at the Native En-vogue International Fashion Show, LONDON where the fashion audience got rattled and thrilled by one of Rosbinna’s masterpieces, as evidenced in the spongy Royal Wedding Gown. Rosbinna imprint also remains on the runways of New York Fashion Week, African Fashion and Design Week and a lot of others around the globe with numerous awards.

Port Harcourt celebrity ladies like looking trendy but lack high profile fashion designers that will make their dresses as some of them go to Lagos to get their dresses made, why are there lack of creative fashion Designers and fabrics dealers in Port Harcourt quite unlike Lagos?

I don’t know why because ROSBINNA Fashion House as a brand is making clothes for high profile celebrities as many of them are reputable personalities from within and outside the country. This is due to the fact that we use experienced designers from around the world who we don’t want to mention their names.

How was your growing up years like?

My growing up as a child was not easy but with the help of God and my mum, I am so happy.

Looking at you, it is obvious that you have an acumen for high dress sense, how did it evolve?

I love fashion, not just love, I have a passion for it.

Are you married?

No. I am not married.

Give us your academic background, what is it like?

I have done my first-degree programme in Business Administration, now I am doing a second program that I am running which is Mass Communications at Rivers State University, Nkpolu Orowurokwo Port Harcourt. The reason why I am doing another first degree in Mass Communication is because I want to be on the screen.

What about your primary and secondary schools, where did you attend?

My Primary school and secondary school were all at Walga, Primary Ibaka Town School and my secondary school being Okrika National Secondary School, Okrika in Rivers State.

Are you referring to the fact that you intend to be a broadcaster or an actress in Nollywood?

Yes, a broadcaster at the same time doing my shows.

Currently, do you have any Talk Show running?

No, not yet, but I am about to start it.

Has your outfit participated in any social cum business fashion show in the past?

Yes, ROSBINNA has done a lot of Fashion Shows in Nigeria and outside the country.

How do you feel being self-employed as a Rivers state indigene where the majority of youths are roaming the streets searching for white-collar jobs?

As an indigene of Rivers State, I feel very honoured being self-employed because people say that Rivers people don’t use to work but I have proven to them that it is not true.

Which part of Rivers state are you from?

I am from Okrika main town but my dad is from Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area and my mum is from Ibaka Town in Okrika.
