KOSOFE LG Chairman, MOYOSORE OGUNLEWE Marks 100 Days In Office

•Unveils Laudable Projects

The people of Kosofe Local Government on Thursday, November 11, 2021, came out en mass to sing the praises of Honorable Moyosore Ogunlewe who marked his 100 days in office. The event which took place at the local government secretariat witnessed the unveiling of six new vehicles which the chairman had bought for the smooth running of the local government as well as a step to push for a better revenue generation.

Speaking at the event, Hon Ogunlewe revealed that there is so much more to be done. He further said that he couldn’t have achieved so much without the support and corporation of his indefatigable team who put in their best at every project.

Some of the projects highlighted by the chairman in his first 100 days at the office include drainage and road construction on Araromi Street and nine other road projects and drainage systems in Abioye Street, Mende, Maryland and other areas of Kosofe Local Government areas. He further led the commissioning of four revenue generation vehicles, one emergency ambulance and another bus for the market women.

In addition, the chairman made it known that the management had equally distributed 150 GCE forms for senior secondary school students in Kosofe in a bid to ease their financial stress. It included tutoring classes for the students to help them with preparation for the upcoming examination.

He also added that “So far, our 100 days have been eventful, as it is action-packed. We commenced our journey by rolling out people-oriented programs and projects.  The beginning of every task is usually the most vital, challenging and determining. How well you start says a lot about how far you will go, your resilience to obstacles you may encounter on the path, and your chances of success”. 100 days ago, we all began a journey, one forged with inclusion and togetherness. They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and our community.

Commending the feats of the council boss, the APC Chairman in Kosofe Local Government, Alhaji Kehinde Bello stated that his party is committed to transforming Kosofe at every given opportunity and that is why the party fielded a young, innovative and motivated man during the local government polls.

Attesting to the development of the local government, the National Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) chairman, Mr Orababa Sunday said that the chairman increased welfare allocation of the staff from the previous N500,000 to the sum of N1,000,000.

 While also appreciating his colleagues, the chairman said: “the input of the various heads of administration and members of staff of this council is a great pedestal that has lifted our Administration to enviable heights. I will not forget my colleagues in the Administration, the legislative arms and my team for their relentless efforts in ensuring that we recorded these achievements”.

Also present at the event was the Lagos state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Dr. Wale Ahmed, who was ably represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs Kike Sanya-Olu who brought goodwill messages from both the Governor and Commissioner.

In her speech, she revealed that honourable Ogunlewe has further strengthened the governor’s belief in the youths and an all-inclusive governance t Governor Sanwo-Olu had adopted since he came into office.

The epoch-making event witnessed the presence of top politicians, such as Senator Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, a former minister of works, Prince Muyiwa Sosanya, a member of the GAC, Hon Prince Rotimi Agunsoye, Hon Ganiyu Okanlawon, the Chairman, Lagos House Committee on education, Otunba Alakija, a former Vice Chairman, Kosofe LG.

Others are Mrs Yetunde Arobieke honourable commissioner for wealth creation, Hon Oloro Idowu, Hon Femi Oyesile, Mr Segun Babatunde, Otunba Bowale Benson, Comrade Orababa Sunday, Alhaji Lukman Sanni Iyanda, Chairman, Kosofe league of Imams, Alhaji Abdulraheem Obasa, Hon Abayomi Ologbonori, Hon S.A. Adebayo.

Some of the royal fathers spotted at the event are Oba Nojimu Akinwunmi Fashola, and the Ologudu-elect of Ogudu, HRM, Oba Jimoh Adewale Cole, the Olojota of Ojota.

Moyosore Ogunlewe is a trained lawyer who is passionate about the development of his community. He is the son of Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, a former minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
