OGUN PDP Guber Candidate Sen. BURUJI KASHAMU Opens Up

Ogun PDP guber candidate, Senator Buruju Kashamu has revealed why he is not on good terms with Hon. Ladi Adebutu, who is a member of his party and who is also interested in the Ogun governorship race. He told City People how he trained Ladi Adebutu and the latter later decided to fight him (Buruji).

What is his your relationship like with Hon. Ladi Adebutu? Why is he fighting with him?

“I am not fighting him. I have no problems with Ladi Adebutu. He is my boy. Ladi Adebutu used to be my Boy. I trained him politically. I met Ladi Adebutu in 2010, when I just became the leader of the Soremi led PDP in Ogun State. He contested for the House of Reps and he lost in 2011.”

“Since then he has always been my boy. We move around and I showed him the way to go. What happened was that he was very, very close to me and I was training him in many things, and on how to handle many things. In 2015, he got his ticket to House of Reps through me. Since then he faced me. He says he has ambition to contest for governorship.”

How come it has been difficult to resolve issues with him?

“Because I was having little problem with Ayo Fayose and Fayose backed him up and from there he began to challenge me, that I should let him contest for governorship. That I have decided to block him. That is why he has decided to face me. I have been trying my best to reconcile with him, but he has been fighting me who brought him up. I don’t know why he is fighting me. But I do know that sooner than later everything will be okay. I am not fighting with anybody. I am a peace loving person. I am not dragging things with anybody.”

How come many people see Sen. Buruji Kashamu as a very tough person? Does he agree? Is he really tough?

“Haaa! It is good when you are tough and your toughness is based on matters of Justice. I don’t take nonsense when it comes to matters of Principle and Justice. If I have a legacy and I am trying to protect my legacy, is anything wrong with that? I have a legacy and some people are trying to destroy that legacy and I’m trying to protect it, is anything wrong in that? They are protecting their own legacy, but want to destroy my own. I won’t take that. Its better for me to be tough. It is better for people to see me as tough. All these fight we have been fighting in the party, it is a bout Justice.

I don’t take nonsense. If the party is not ready to do justice to simple issues then, we have to make them do what is just. You can’t put me down. You can’t do what is unjust to me. God will never allow that.

I myself I will never allow that. If I allow that I will even be punished by God. That is why I would never allow that. I cannot open my eyes and see people who are doing injustice to other people and close my eyes. Never! Never! Not only me. I am not fighting for only me alone. I am fighting for many people. I have over 300 cases in court. My own case is about 20 cases out of all these cases. The others is for people that I have been assisting to get justice. People call me Alanu Mekunnu because I help many people to get justice. Those who are about losing their fathers houses to uncle, I defend them.

I follow many people to court to fight and we do get judgement. That is my own mission: I fight Injustice openly.

And I fight it everywhere. I will be the last person to be involved in any injustice. I don’t do it. And I don’t lie. I will always tell you as it is. So it is normal for some people who have seen me fighting Injustice to call me names that I am tough. That’s why some people believe I am tough.”
