• SHE IS SEGUN AWOLOWO’S DAUGHTER
Awo’s grandson, Segun Awolowo (Jnr.) and his pretty wife, Bola are in a happy mood right now. This is because, on Easter Monday, 22nd April 2019, their pretty daughter, Oluwaseun will be getting married to her heartthrob, Akintoye Bode-Kayode.
And as you read this, plans are in top gear to make the engagement a grand event. Don’t forget that Oluwaseun is also the granddaughter of respected fashion icon and society matriarch, Hajia Abba Folawiyo. The wedding itself comes up on May 20th, 2019.
A few weeks back, Segun Awolowo sent notifications to friends and well-wishers about the wedding. The letter titled: Our Numero Uno Is Getting Married, reads: “The old cliche “They grow up too fast” suddenly rings true for my dear wife and I.
In a letter inviting family and friends to our daughter Oluwaseun’s naming and christening ceremony on August 24th 1992, I wrote “for me the first sight of her was and will remain an unforgettable and indelible moment of sheer magic. I went on to quote from my favourite book given to me by my late grandfather, Unto Thee I Grant “consider the tenderness of the baby’s sex, the delicacy of her frame, the love and softness that speaketh from her eyes, the maiden sweetness of her birth and be reminded of thine own imperfections”.
“All these words still describe Oluwaseun some decades later”.
“With great joy and ultimate gratitude to God we are writing to inform you of her engagement ceremony on April 22nd 2019 and her wedding on May 20th 2019 to her heartthrob Akintoye Bode-Kayode. Invitations and formal notifications to the private ceremonies will be communicated soon”.

The bride, Seun Awolowo is the first child of Segun Awolowo, the grandson of late sage, Obafemi Awolowo. Her love story with her lover, Toye dated few years back and they had their proposal 8 months ago precisely in June, 2018. Even Seun gushed about her proposal on her social media page.
She has been seen doing bridesmaid duties for many of her friends and it is her turn to become the bride. The 27-year-old bride, Seun Awolowo is part of the Management and Strategy team for Real Estate at Goldman Sachs. She holds a degree in Politics and International Studies from Warwick University in the U.K. She is passionate about people living life to the fullest, and she runs a website to that effect. She is a motivational speaker who also runs an NGO called Teach A Girl Nigeria, her NGO is focused on girl education in Nigeria, with 7 other incredible ladies. She is the founder of Leads Africa and founder of 3D Living Moments. On her website, Seun once wrote about what she looks out for when getting married”. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Reading. He is a music lover and a lifestyle enthusiast. Seun’s parents are going to be the most happier on the wedding day. Her mother, Bola Awolowo who turned 50 a few years back is also not slowing down on giving her daughter the best wedding. Her father, Segun Awolowo is the amiable ED and CEO of the NEPC (Nigerian Export Promotion Council) and the first grandson of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
This will be the first major party that Hajia Abba Folawiyo will stage in a long time, as this is her first grandchild. She so much loves her son, Segun and if you are close to her, you will notice she dotes on him as her only son and child. She once spoke about her love for her son. “He is the only child I have, so we are very close. He is like my husband, my father. He tells me what to do. Whatever he asks me to do is what I do. He loves me dearly and we interact like he is my father, not like mother and son. Whenever something is bothering me, we sit and talk about it and the same goes for him too. We are very close and he is a lovely son; very kind and caring. He’s very proud of me and I am proud of him also. And my son’s wife is super amazing. She’s the daughter I didn’t have’’.
