The solemnisation of holy matrimony between Yetunde Oluwaseun Oduyemi and Ibukunoluwa Abodunrin Olubode took place on Saturday, 28th December 2019 at Daystar Christian Centre, Oregun- Ikeja, Lagos. The ceremony kicked off with an engagement on Friday, 27th December at Balmoral Hall, while the party reception for the wedding took place at Balmoral event centre in Ikeja.
Society women stormed the party in large numbers to honour Barrister Shade Balogun at her nephew’s wedding. City People Society Editor, TAYO FAJORIN OYEDIJI, captured the classy wedding.
BEHOLD THE BEAUTIFUL COUPLE
Yetunde and Ibukun had a beautiful and glorious day, as friends, families and well-wishers came together to celebrate them. They are both well-matched couples, who complement each other. They are well-schooled abroad and we gathered that was where they both struck the cupids arrow.
Yetunde and Ibukun wore the best designer outfits for their engagement and wedding and guests could not keep their eyes off them, as they were the cynosure of all eyes.
ENGAGEMENT WAS AT BALMORAL HALL
On Friday, 27th December, the engagement between the couple took place at the prestigious Balmoral Hall in Ikeja and it mostly had families and close friends in attendance. The bride’s parents. Late Mr. Olusegun Oduyemi and Mrs Oduyemi, were more than happy to welcome their inlaws. They did all the traditional rites, exchange of gifts and music was not also in short supply as guests danced and enjoyed themselves.
AT THE CHURCH SERVICE
The church wedding service took place at Daystar Christian Centre, Oregun on Saturday, 28th December and was presided over by Pastor Sam Nike Adeyemi, who were joined by a host of other pastors. There was an exchange of rings and thereafter the couple were joined together. There was also a beautiful rendition from the choir.
AT THE COLOURFUL PURPLE RECEPTION
The classy reception party was at Balmoral Hall and it was beautifully decorated in colours of gold and purple. From the entrance of the hall to the aisle is a sight to behold. The reception party started with an opening prayer and so after was the chairman’s opening remark which declared the event opened after the couple had danced in.
FMR. OGUN SPEAKER TITI OSENI PARTIED WITHOUT HUSBAND, GOMEZ
The former first female speaker in Ogun state, Hon Titi Oseni was at the party, but alone. She was there without her new husband, Wale Gomez who runs a thriving business in Nigeria and in the UK. She was one of the early callers at the party and spent an amazing time with her friend, Barrister Shade Balogun.

It is only an event that is A-list that you will see these set of society matriarchs, Chief Mrs Ireti Asemota and Royal Princess, Yewande Onileere. They were both at the reception and stunned in their gold lace and purple Aso Ebi. They complimented their outfits with a set of diamonds. When invites for the wedding was shared to the selected guests, many knew it will be one of the classy weddings in Lagos because the chief host, Barrister Mrs Shade Balogun is one of the highly celebrated society women within the Lagos social radar and she is well-loved by many of her friends, both older and younger. It was not her son’s wedding but it was her nephew’s wedding. The mother of the groom is Mrs Olubode, who is Shade Balogun’s sister. The relationship that existed between them is so cordial owing to the fact that they are sisters from the same parents. No wonder, Shade Balogun put all her weight behind the wedding as if it’s hers and she made sure her sister had a pleasant wedding for her son.

Almost over 500 women wore the beautiful Aso Oke. The bride who wore an all stoned Aso Oke looked regal in the beautiful piece made by her as well.
