Holds 10th Year Remembrance
•As Celebrity Women Storm Event
Tuesday, 16th July 2019 would remain a day filled with so much joy and gratitude to God for the families and children of late Madam Aduke Popoola(Nee Oyeyebi) as it marks the 10th year remembrance since she passed on to glory. It is the desire and prayer of any child to live long enough to bury their parents in their ripe old age and that is the testimony of Yeye Atinuke Anike Abioro and siblings.
On that day, Magodo bubbled, as Yeye Atinuke Abioro threw a grand remembrance party for her mum. Joy filled her face that she lived enough to celebrate 10 years after her mum’s passing on.
The Tyttlo Events Centre, along C.M.D Road, Magodo G.R.A Phase 2 was filled to capacity, as top society women stormed the party. The Tyttlo event centre hall could not contain her guests and there was need for an extension. The Colour Code was Powder Blue and Pink. The hall was decorated with complimenting colours that brought a beautiful ambiance to the hall. It was obvious that she celebrates with people and they in turn, guests trooped out to celebrate with her. Yeye Atinuke Abioro is known to make fashion statements at parties and she did not disappoint fashion lovers that day. She graciously welcomed her guests in a luxury Green lace. The exotic Green dress called the attention of many. She blended it with matching Aso-oke headgear and Jewelry. She is a lively person and a good host. She thrilled her guests as she danced along the walkway welcoming them to their table. The Aso-Ebi picked for the occasion was a flowery patterned Ankara and hundreds of Celeb women and men dazzled in gorgeous and unique styles for the occasion. The Ankara had a powder blue and pink background and a Saego gele to match. Over 400 celeb women turned up for Yeye Atinuke Abioro.
The event started at 2 pm with a musical interlude from the Living Soul Band (kamiye) to welcome the guests for a fun-filled event. Prince Adeyinka Adedayo, the leader of Living Soul Band and his men were dressed in ash and black uniform and they delivered over 10 genres of music that thrilled the guests.
Some of the children and grand-children of late Madam Aduke Popoola gave tributes to their Mother and grand-mother. They spoke on their different experiences and how the deceased was a very caring and loving mother. They miss her so much and they can only pray that God will grant her eternal rest.
Most Sup.Evang (PRO) M.O Oyegbami (JP), shepherd-in-charge of C.C.C. Horeb Cathedral gave a memorial lecture at the 10th Anniversary Celebration in honour of late Madam Raliatu Aduke Popoola (Nee Oyeyebi). The lecture discussed the biological, spiritual, societal and biblical relationship the deceased had with her children and people around her. She was defined as a mother of many virtues. He mentioned that her sacrifices are too numerous to mention and her children are grateful that she showed them the way of the lord, discipline, humility that has sustained them thus far. He also defined Mamas character as EXCEPTIONAL.E- Exemplary in her living, X-Extra-Ordinary in her service to God, C-Courageous in dealing with difficult issues, E-Emphatic to the plights of others, P-Passionate about the welfare of her family and everyone she comes by, T-Tolerant, she always considers other people’s views on issues, I-Innovative, always ready to offer new ideas offer, O-Obedient, which is what God wants from any good person of faith, N-Nurturer, building up the gift and grace of God in many peoples life, A-Attractive, very pleasing in appearance to draw attention of people, L-Loving, unselfish, loyal with benevolent intention towards others. She was likened to biblical characters like Mary Magdalene, Mary of Bethany and Mary of Narazeth.
After the memorial lecture, the Living Soul Band took over the stage with good music. It was time for Yeye Atinuke Abioro to dance and she stormed the stage in the Ankara Aso-Ebi with powder blue headgear. She was joined by her siblings Alhaja Shike Odo-Ola(Canada), Alhaji Oloruntobi Gani(America), Mr Lukumon-Bolagade Popoola as they all danced to the live band’s songs. She was joined by other top society ladies who came to celebrate with her. They joined her on the dance floor as they sprayed crispy notes on her.
