The big news is that a few weeks back, Yeye Oge Tohglamorous gave her mum a befitting burial in Ondo.

The serene town of Ondo bubbled to its very foundation when the remains of late Mrs Damilola Aina was given a befitting burial by her children and grandchildren in a 2-day ceremony that ran from Thursday, 17th of Dec, Friday 18th December to Friday 25th December. It was one event that made celebrities move from all over the world to Ondo town to celebrate with the popular London-Celebrity lady, and her siblings. Many attendees were guests of Adebimpe (Yeye Oge To Glamourous). She is the deceased’s first daughter, and dignitaries were present at the party, that was a one-in-town and classy event. ABOUT THE PARTY

Mama’s journey to mother earth started on Thursday, 17th with a Christian wake at her residence at Road 13, Avenue 13, Funbi Fagun, Ondo town, after the corpse left the mortuary in the morning. In the evening, many of her church pastors, members of Bethel Height Ministries, Goshen land and mostly family members graced the evening of Songs/Christian wake. It was followed by Dokunmasun (Night Party) according to Ondo tradition.

The funeral service took place also at the same residence on the 18th December, 2020. The following day, and it was well attended by family members, friends of the deceased and well-wishers. Guests were entertained at The Four Square Resort & Event Centre situated at Yaba, Ondo town. Mama’s children, grandchildren, and family members all came together and made sure mama was given a grand farewell. And on Friday 25th December, 2020 the 8 days party was held at her residence in Ondo City.

WHAT YEYE OGE TO GLAMOROUS SAID ABOUT HER MUM

Mummy mi! Mummy mi!! Mummy mi!!! Hmmm iku doro, iku seka, iku mu iya mi lo, iya mi toto, alabaro mi, olufe mi Damiiola Ashake Egii lo. To say that I seriously and badly miss you is an understatement, you were a mother in a million. You were very caring and extraordinarily loving towards me, you did anything and everything to see my siblings and I happy. You solely sponsored my education. You were a responsible mother; you were there for me in time of need. Mummy me, as I fondly called you, you made sure we your children didn’t lack anything. You were my best and closest friend. In fact, you were just my twin sister. Your time on earth was short, but you lived a fulfilled and satisfactory life. You couldn’t hurt a fly. Your days in London united me and my family were very precious and memorable. You had very good listening ears. Me, my husband and children miss you a lot your grandchildren kept asking me hope grandma is still going to wake up”. Mummy mi, you know I loved you with my whole heart, I can’t believe I won’t see you again. I miss your smile, hugs, gut and cooking, I miss your presence a lot. But I thank God you had Christ before you died.

Strongly, I believe you are in heaven now. Heaven definitely has guardian angel, death came to snatch you away. Mummy mi, o dabo o digbose, good night iye omo ashake mi. Miss you so much. Love you forever. You will surely get a befitting and a glorious exit you deserve. Adieu mama rere. Rest in peace

WHAT MANY DON’T KNOW ABOUT LATE MRS DAMILOLA AINA

Many pray for their mothers or parents to live long, and in good health too. The late Mrs Damilola Aina lived a glorious life and no wonder she was given a befitting burial. The loving woman died at a ripe age of 66, living a fulfilled life on earth. Her life was celebrated in a unique way and Mama journeyed home peacefully after her grand burial in Ondo town. The late Mrs Damilola Aina, daughter of the late Pa. Braimoh Akinyosoye and the late Madam Margaret Monilape Akinyosoye (nee Oladapo), was born on the 27th of April 1954. She was educated at Ansar-deen Primary School, later went on to Lagos State College Academy (LASCA. She was the only daughter and only child of her mother. She proceeded to Lagos State Ministry Training School. She got married to the late Francis Ilemobayo Adeyemi in 1973. Their fruitful union was blessed with children and grandchildren. She worked at different government parastals in Ondo State Ministry of Works and Housing, Akure she worked at Owena Bank Plc (Omega Bank). She was very industrious and hardworking. She was also the CEO of Unique Catering Service and she travelled wide and far in her life time, while working as a banker at Owena Bank she went for training and holiday, to both DUBAI and LONDON in the 80’s. Since 2005, she had been travelling to London and other parts of the UK every year until 2018 when she retired to her home town in Ondo city. Mrs Damilola Aina was a devoted Christian and loving mother. She loved her children and family so much till the home calling on 16th August, 2020.  Her children and grandchildren had very good memories of her warm hospitality, kind, loving and caring nature. She would be greatly missed by all. She is survived by children grand-children and family members. Adieu Mrs Damilola Ashake Leyebi, Ajilaran, Egi, Lugbo, Omo asobe paje je Nikoya Nikoyade bogho so si de o gho ka good night until the resurrection day when we shall meet to part no more.

After the funeral service and the final laying to rest, all guests converged for the exclusive reception at The Four Square Resort & Event Centre situated at Yaba, Ondo town. It was a well-structured hall. The atmosphere was cool, the settings was right and there is a touch of class everywhere. Start from the arrangement of the whole event, where all the tables were tagged, with names of guests, making it easier for guests to locate their seats. Not only that, every table was with its drink-buckets with almost all brands of drinks, including pottable water. Everything was arranged in such a way that you don’t have to know anybody before you are attended to. No matter whose guests you were. Everybody had fun all through.

ACTOR ODUNLADE ADEKOLA COMPERES THE EVENT

No one does it better than the master himself. And for an event as big as this, definitely you can’t expect less. Popular Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola, was the Mc of the day and trust him, he made the day a memorable one for all the guests with his jokes and professional conducts.

ABOUT KING SUNNY ADE’S ELECTRIFYING PERFORMANCE

The king of Juju himself was on the bandstand. He was the musician of the day. He did wonderfully well with his performance to the excitement of all guests. His cool beats and lyrics enthralled many guests dancing away the day so much so that even some celebs who don’t normally dance didn’t know when they started digging it. He sang-praised the host, Yeye Oge to Glamorous, her husband and almost all the celebrities present it was a naira rain event.

SOCIETY WOMEN & THEIR HOT STYLES

Trust the society women as they always register their presence anywhere, they find themselves, especially at social functions. They came in different attire and styles. Many of them spotted in the Ankara Aso-Ebi. Those who did not wear Ankara Aso-Ebi looked gorgeous in their different styles and headgears. The colour was royal blue and white. Most guests wore the multicolour Ankara with white headgear.

Moyo Cultural Band was first noticed when he performed shortly after the Wake. It was an energetic performance and he did well. Surprisingly he was also the brain behind Moyo Ologuro and palm wine concept, who goes about serving people cold palm wine before the proper commencement of the party.

OLAKANMI IN CHARGE OF DRINKS

Olakanmi Cooling Services was in charge of the beers, minerals and bottle water and they really did well.

Garriyoyo was on point with their Garri, Yoyyo & Ede, which was part of the delicacy guests enjoyed at the party.

ADEPETU SMALL CHOPS DELICIOUS

Adepetu New City Limited of Awosika St, Yaba Ondo helped with small chops with pepper chicken and snail.

TASTY POT CATERING & EVENT CONCEPT WAS ALSO ON POINT

They are the ones who catered for the welcome Mama on Thursday morning. They served jollof rice with MoinMoin, beef and fish. They also catered tothe night party (Dokunmasun) on Thursday where they served white boiled rice, Amala on point with assorted meat. At the main party, they catered for the church members and all vendors with Jollof rice and meat. They also served pounded yam with soups, efo riro, ila asepo, efo elegunsi and gbanunu. Ewa aganyin and dodo with assorted meat, fried fish and pepper sauce catfish. They are undoubtedly one of the best in town.
