Popular Lagos Big Boy, a Daniel Akindoyin, is the CEO of Ola Magic Touch. He offers massage to celebrities. His services are unique and different and that is why many run to him for services. He is a graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State. He established Ola Magic Touch a year plus ago and he has done extremely well for himself. His services don’t come cheap, as he only offers services to a few selected people who can afford it.
In this interview with City People’s Senior Showbiz Reporter, BIODUN ALAO, he talked about how he started, what inspired him to go into the business, his challenges and why he only render services to a few people.
How long has Ola Touch been in existence?
All thanks to God Almighty. It’s been a year plus and it is a registered business and God has really been faithful.
What made you go into the business?
I noticed that most people don’t fix themselves in their type of business. They don’t do what they have passion for, forgetting the fact that having passion in whatever you do go a long way to help push your business going. Even if you are going through challenges, the passion keeps you going.
And what makes my brand different and unique is because I offer strictly home service. I have worked in a Spa before and I notice people that walked in for services are far fewer in number, compared to people we go to meet at home for home services. So, I thought about it and put myself in their shoes. Why do I really want to get a massage? And I answered myself that I want to relax, be stress-free, so, I imagined myself going for a massage where the services are good because it’s not everybody who knows how to do the massage. I thought about the advantages and disadvantages of going to the spa for a massage. I realised there are more advantages when it’s done at your comfort zone, which is home service, after a massage, you don’t need to start driving home immediately, but rather relax and rest for 2 to 3 hours which one can’t achieve in a spa. You can’t also do that at a massage parlour because other clients will also want to come in for services.
Take for example after a massage, you can’t say you want to relax in my parlor for 2 to 3 hours and other clients will be waiting, it can’t work that way. So, we decided to take it to their houses, to hotels where there won’t be any disturbance. And I try as much as possible to communicate with the body. This is for relaxation. It is for you to relieve yourself of stress, anxiety and whatever you are going through at that particular moment. So, at that particular moment, it is necessary to put everything behind and just focus on the massage and the kind of services we offer makes us really unique and different from lots of others.
Can you talk about the different services you render to people?
We offer different services. We offer home services, we come to your home, bring all the necessary equipment to your home, be it a female or male, we come around, give you the massage and leave but I don’t honestly advise people to opt for home services because there will always be a disturbance, like someone trying to get something from you or ask you something or visitors coming in as well.
The second one is hotel incall, we book a hotel for you, we set the hotel room to a standard and the environment will look very conducive and comfortable, then you come around and get your massage. After giving you the massage, we leave the hotel and give you enough time to relax, as the room is all yours.
Then there is a hotel outcall, you book the hotel yourself because some persons prefer their own favorite or preferred hotel. We get there, give the massage and leave. Then we have the couple massage. It’s usually for a couple, we give the couple a nice treat. The treat also comes with wine and food in a hotel room.
There’s a VIP package. We try our possible best to book a nice hotel. It also comes, with a bottle of wine and lunch. After the massage, you will be treated to a nice lunch. It also comes with aromatherapy. This has to do with a few essential Oil we use for this particular massage process. So, those are the different services we offer.
What are the challenges you encounter running this type of business?
The challenge I face as a person is insecurity with the clients. Many people feel insecure they don’t have self-control. They can’t control themselves, but I keep telling people massage is not that way. It comes with pain and pleasure. There’s a way we do this thing that it doesn’t get into your head. You need to understand the body language and also communicate with the body without communicating with the person.
Another major challenge is that many guys believe we have sex with the clients, ladies we give massage. Most ladies feel they can’t handle, it but honestly it’s something we can always work on.
Then the price, lots of people believe we are too expensive and how can they pay so high for just massage. Fine, it’s an ordinary massage to some people and I don’t care, but to some persons, it is very unique and I have good clients I don’t want to render services to everybody but to some selected few who know the worth, and if I render services to everybody, I would have been worn out by now. So, my services are strictly for few selected people, it was programmed that way. It is for people who can afford it and not for everyone. So, when people complain about the price, I look and just laugh because it is not everyone who can get the service.
