Nine months ago, precisely 8 October, 2020, the Oyo State Chapter of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) elected and subsequently inaugurated a new Exco. The new Exco is headed by the popular Ibadan-based presenter, Seun Awodele widely known as ‘Anointed Presenter’ as Chairman.
As expected of ‘Sam Awo, as Awodele is popularly called, his personality and several years of experience on the job, has helped the new Exco which has been doing wonderfully well. Many innovations have since been introduced and a good number of developmental projects embarked upon.
In case you don’t know, FIBAN is a professional body of freelance and independent broadcasters on radio and television across the country. They are media personalities who work without salaried income. What they do is to create contents/programmes and search for sponsors to push same on various media platforms. The likes of Yemi Sonde, Basorun Gboyega Lawal, Kola Olootu, Alhaji Tirimisiyu Kola Akintayo and Bayo Sangotiku are past Chairmen of the Oyo State FIBAN.

COMRADE SEUN AWODELE
Seun Awodele is the Chairman, Oyo State Chapter of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria. Samson Oluseun Awodele is a popular broadcaster with three decades of experience on the job. He is an Ibadan man, born and bred in the ancient city of Ibadan. He was born on August 25th, 1969 in Ibadan into the family of Olagoke David Awodele and Dorcas Olagoke Awodele at E5/547, Temidire Oje, Ibadan. His father was a Police officer, later an officer of Nigerian Army and reknown politician in Nigeria. His mother was a petty trader in Ibadan.
He attended CAC Primary School, Erifin for his primary education. He went to Agogo Grammar school which was later merged with Lagelu Grammar School in 1984-1989. After his secondary school education, he proceeded to Nigerian Institute of Journalism where he acquired different journalism skills.
He did a volunteered programme with Alhaji Gboyega Lawal to sharpen his journalistic acumen afterward. He also furthered to study public administration at the University of Jos where he obtained Bachelor of Science in Public Administration in 1996. Subsequently, Samson Awodele in his unwinding passion for academic went to international institute of journalism to obtain PGD in journalism in 2009 and later had masters in communication and language arts at the Premier University of Ibadan. In summary, Seun Awodele bagged the following honours: Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising/Public Relation, Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, Master’s in Communication and Language Arts. Ca developed keen interest in broadcasting, so this prompted him to go in force into full broadcasting. As at then, he covered all six states.
He had ten live programmes to his name. Seun Awodele is a man of ideas, in his dexterity, he launched his first ever business investment during this time with the name Asamco Nigeria Enterprise. Moreover, because of his passion for journalism, he started Sam Awo Basic Concepts on 5th of October, 2005.
This mega and super explosive idea births Dulcet Institute of Communication and Allied Studies, Dulcet TV, Dulcet Production Studio and Salt Radio Ibadan. Oluseun Awodele is a multi-talented man. He is a thrilling singer who belongs to several gospel music bands. He similarly sings tenor with so many notable gospel artistes across the country. Oluseun Awodele is happily married with children.
KEHINDE ADEWUYI
Adewuyi Kehinde Emmanuel is Oyo FIBAN Vice Chairman. He is an Oyo indigene, born on 10 of May, 1975. He attended Obanisunwa DC School, Ajaawa for his primary education. He proceeded to Ajaawa Baptist Grammar School, then Kwara State Polytechnic. He has been in the industry for 22 years. He is a presenter on Ajilete 92.1 FM, Ogbomosho. He is happily married with lovely children.
YETUNDE OMOLOLA AISIDA
Aisida Yetunde Omolola is the General Secretary of Oyo FIBAN. The 50-year-old talented woman is from Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State. She is a graduate of Banking and Finance from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye. She also has M.A in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan and another certificate in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja.
She attended Anglican Primary School, Ogudu, Lagos. She however completed her primary education at Pastor Adegboyega Memorial Primary School, Ketu. She also attended Plateau School of Accountancy and Management Studies, Jos.
She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators. She is a freelance presenter at Star FM and Splash FM, Ibadan.
JELILI ADEGBITE
He is the amiable Treasurer of the Oyo State Chapter of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria.
AJIYEMI OJO ABIODUN
He is the Publicity Secretary of Oyo FIBAN. He is from Ado-Ekiti in Ado Local Government Area of Ekiti State. Ojo Abiodun attended St David Primary School, Idolofin, Ado-Ekiti and Ado Grammar School, Ado-Ekiti for his secondary school education. He is a Mass Communication graduate of Lagos State Polytechnic, Akoka, Lagos. He is a freelance presenter at Impact Business Radio (IBR) 92.5 FM.
OLUMIDE AKINLOYE
Akinloye Olumide Solomon is the Financial Secretary of Oyo FIBAN. The 50 years old is a presenter of Lawujo Agba and Laye Joun programs on Lagelu F.M, Ibadan. He is happily married with children.
NOJEEMDEEN ABDULLATEEF
He is the Organising Secretary of the Oyo State Chapter of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria. Born July 1st, 1978, Abdul-Lateef Nojeemdeen Olayinka is from Yewa Local Government Area of Ogun State. He attended Christ Church Primary School and Oronna High School, Ilaro both in Ogun State for his primary and secondary school respectively. He also attended Marikas Shabab Li-Islam Arabic School, Iwo, Osun State and Islamic Preaching School, Olorunsogo, Ibadan. He also studied both English and Yoruba at the Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun.
AHMED SALAWUDEEN
Ahmed Salawudeen is the Auditor of Oyo FIBAN.
IYADUNNI BASHEER AKINTUNDE
Iyadunni, as she is fondly called, is a two term Welfare Officer of the Oyo State Chapter of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria. Her real name is Basheer Bisola Akintunde. She is a native of Ibadan, Oyo State. A practicing Muslim.
She had her primary and secondary schools education in Ibadan. Before she proceeded to the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Adeseun Ogundoyin Campus, Eruwa, where she studied Mass Communication between year 2007 and 2010.
She furthered in her education by going for Higher National Diploma in Mass-Communication at The Polytechnic Ibadan between year 2011 and 2014. She is one of the versatile female freelance presenters in Ibadan, and indeed Oyo State. She is happily married with two kids
AZEEZ KUSIMO
Kusimo Azeez Abiodun is the Chief Whip of Oyo FIBAN. The 40 years old Azeez Abiodun is an indigene of Ogun State. He has sixteen years of experience on the job. He is a presenter at Premier FM 93.5 and Amuludun FM 99.1 Ibadan, Oyo State. He is happily married.
OLUSOJI ADEDIJI
He is the Ex-Officio of Oyo FIBAN. He is from the Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, Ibadan. Olusoji Adediji attended St Peter Primary School, Ojoku, Ibadan and Ajia Secondary Grammar School Ibadan for both his primary and secondary school education. After which, he proceeded to the University of Ibadan where he studied Theatre Art. He is a Chaplain at the palace of Olubadan of Ibadanland.
