The 18 finalists from 6 South-West States of Nigeria made up of Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti, were penultimate Friday, rewarded with exciting prizes at the end of their 1-week camping in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for the studio recording of their performances in the ongoing new Fuji music talent hunt show tagged: “Oba Orin Music Challenge”.
With King of music cum Fuji music star, Alhaji (Dr.) Saheed Osupa being the Ambassador of the project initiated by a television content providing company amongst other things they do, Agodo Asa, the conclusion of the recording that took place at the well-equipped studio of the Ogun State Television (OGTV) saw the first 3 contestants from each of the 6 states who actually emerged after keenly contested singing exercise amongst the multitude of entrants from their different states, being rewarded with 32 inches LG television sets, home theatre sets and DVD players.
The 6 first positions from each of the states got the television sets, the 6 first runners up from each of the 6 states got the home theatre sets, and the 6 2nd runners up from each of the states got the DVD players. Meanwhile, during their week-long camping where they were lodged and fed in a hotel by the organisers, King (Dr.) Saheed Osupa was on hand a couple of times to tutor them on the nitty-gritty of music such as compositions, inflections, attitudes on stage, praise-singing, relationship with the fans and the rest of it.
The show is sponsored by Origin Herbal Gin, Apex Fabrics, Brilliant Coat Paint, Zangalo Haulage, T and K Ventures and enjoys media partnership from Radio Nigeria and City People Magazine. And currently, different episodes of the talent hunt show have started airing on OGTV channels on DSTV, GOTV and Startimes, and viewers can start voting for their favourite contestants using the codes which are being displayed on the screen while the show is on to send text messages.
At the end of the show, the winner would go home with a branded car which enjoys a one-year fuelling and recording deal which would see the winner doing a joint album with King (Dr.) Saheed Osupa, the first runner up would go home with One Million Naira cash and the second runner up would go home with Five Hundred Thousand Naira Cash.
