•Details Of The 2-In-1 Party In IBADAN

On Saturday 14 December, 2019, many film and music marketers and other distinguished guests stormed Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State for the final burial ceremony of the mother-in-law of Sunday Esan, one of their own who is and the CEO of Okiki Films and Music Production. It was also a 2-in-1 party, as late Alhaja Nusirat Adebisi Kareem was buried in style and her husband, late Mallam Kareem Alao remembered 40 years after.

The well-attended party, held at Rolat Place Event Centre, Beside Kola Ishola Estate, Akobo, Ibadan, was indeed a glamorous one.

The party was so colourful, from the Ankara Aso-Ebi to the colour theme, arrangement and entertainment of guests, everything was just in place.

FIDAU PRAYERS PRECEDES RECEPTION

Before the entertainment of guests, there was Fidau prayers for the departed souls. Sheikh Muhammad Agboluaje led other alfas in the prayers. In his message, the popular Sheikh spoke exclusively on the importance of a child’s role to his or her late parents. Why it is highly essential for the deads to be remembered by their children and always feed people during such period.

MEET THE CHILDREN

Alhaji and Alhaja Kareem left behind wonderful children who are doing well in their various chosen fields. One of them is the beautiful wife of Okiki Films boss, Mr. Sunday Esan, Bilikis Omowunmi Esan. Her other siblings include Colonel Ismail Kareem, the firstborn of the family; Alhaji Sulaimon Kareem, a top Road Safety officer; Mrs. Iyabo Oliyide and Omodasola.

RUKAYAT GAWAT WAS ON BANDSTAND

Whoever may have shared the though that an Islamic singer can’t fit into some social events must have a rethink. It depends on the crowd and the artiste involved. At the party, a popular Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat was on bandstand. Her performance was electrifying, and she was able to prove that she is indeed a talented singer.

OKIKI FILM BOSS AN EXCELLENT HOST

Sunday Esan, the Okiki Films & Record boss is no doubt one of the big guns in the industry. He is not only powerful as a market, he is sociable and well loved and respected among his colleagues. What many may not also know about him, is that he is an excellent host. He loves to entertain people a lot. No wonder there was no dull moment for his guests throughout the party. He was on his feets a through, moving around the tables and made sure the invited guests were taken care of. There was also a free flow of drinks and all kinds of foods. Though his wife was not around, she is presently abroad, but he filled the vacuum so well. He also made sure the wife was kept abreast of happenings at the party, as he made a video call with her.

WITH LOVE FROM IDUMOTA

Virtually all the who is who amongst marketers at Idumota were present at the party. The turnout was so impressive, as top echelons in the industry came to support their own, Sunday Esan. The powerful delegates were led to the party by the President of Films and Music Marketers Association of Nigeria. Also in the entourage were the likes of Alawaye Venture; Isolak; Alloy Music Epsalum Production; Iya Ayo from Gate in Ibadan and several others.

AN ARRAY OF SOLDIERS

The first child of the family, Colonel Ismail Kareem is a soldier. That explains why there were a good number of uniform men both active and retired. The list includes Rear Admiral G.E Okoi; Colonel Mosugu; General & Ambassador Olaniyi; Colonel and Mrs. Victor Ajanaku; General Musbau Popoola; Colonel and Mrs. Akinsola; General Ayo Odediran; Mallam Cece Alli; Captain Ismail; General Bukai Adefarati; General Adebayo and a whole lots of others.

TOP MEDIA PRACTITIONERS IN THE HOUSE

A good number of media and PR gurus so turned up for Sunday Esan’s party. Reason for this is not far fetched, Okiki Films boss was once a print media journalist with Daily Independent before he landed another media job with Dangote Group as General Manager, Corporate Communications. So, his colleagues were there to support their own. Pastor Bisi Oladele of the Nation Newspaper and others led the powerful delegates.

ALFA TIOJA WAS THE MC

The talented presenter on Fresh 105.9 F.M, Abdulkareem Abdullahi popularly known as ‘Alfa Tioja’ was the master of ceremony at the party. We did so well in anchoring the events.

IT WAS GREEN AND WHITE AFFAIR

Apart from the Ankara Aso-Ebi, the colour theme for the party was Green and White. While the invited guests wore Green cap/headgear on White, the celebrators put on Blue cap/headgear on White. The colour theme no doubt added a bit of glamour to the whole thing.

The party was no doubt a well-attended event.
