by Reporter

It is 14 years today that the father of Otunba Yemi Lawal, the real estate guru ,passed on to greater glory. And he is remembering him today with a beautiful tribute.
In the tribute,he wrote:”There is time for everything. A time to laugh, a time to cry, a time to grieve. Time heals they say but death changes everything”

“But Time is too slow for those who wait.
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve
Too short for those who rejoice
But for those who love, time is
Eternity

  • by Henry Van Dyke”

Time heals all wound but does not change the scars and so I waits…

The time, love, moments and affection we shared are still very fresh and can never be forgotten. You are always and will forever be on my mind. Your mentoring and words of wisdom shaped my life.
There will always be a special place in my life for you. You taught me to stand up for what I believe in and I have seen you go out of your way many times to help others. You have given me roots and wings so I can fly. You have taught me to reach for the stars and follow my dreams.
Those special moments of you will always bring smile. If only I could have you back for just a little while. Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do. You always meant so very much and will always will do too.

No words I write can ever say how much I miss you, nobody knows!. I think of you in silence and I often speak your name but all I have are memories and photos in a frame.
No one sees my weep but the love I have for you is in my heart to keep. I have never stopped loving you. I am sure I never will; Deep inside my heart you are with me still and I see you often in my dreams.

Heartaches in this world are many but mine is worse than any. The things we feel so deeply are often the hardest to say. But I can’t keep quite anymore, so I will tell you anyway.

Exactly 14 years ago(2nd May 2007) I received a call of your passage after dropping you at the hospital a day before. You knew you will not make but no one ever knew your time was up. You looked back and requested for a special prayer by the imam. In the car you requested for you best music by Yusuf OLATUNJI (Baba Legba) but I never got the message.I said greeted you with a promise to see you the following day. You rather asked I put some money into you face but never responded to my greetings. I said good bye again but you only looked at me. So you never said goodbye to me! These are memories very difficult to forgot but I thank God I was there. There is a place in my heart that no one can fill; I love you so Dad and I will always. You did not say good bye and Time has refused to heal the wound

Ramadan is here again but you were not here to wake us up and also play you usual role but we will always remember you in prayers. You will continue to live in our hearts. There is a special prayer for you today

Continue to rest in peace my mentor and beloved father. You died a Successful man, for a man is not successful without a successor. There a countless successors you left behind. May Allah have mercy on you and widen your grave. Allah is the most generous and merciful amin.
