Guru Maharaj Ji

•Tells City People The Story Of His Life @ 74

On Wednesday, 3rd March, 2021, Satguru Maharaj stormed the City People Office in Gbagada, Lagos. He didn’t come alone. He came in a long convoy of cars driven by his devotees. He drove himself in a big red Mercedez Benz Limousine. Two colours were prominent in his dressing and cars – Red & White. He was dressed in his usual white apparel and a white headgear.  He also wore white socks and had a red cloth spread on the chair he chose to sit on.

He was in a happy mood as he told City People how happy he was to leave all he had to do to be with us that Wednesday afternoon. For 2 hours, he told us about his life and activities, as the Living Perfect Master. He told us a lot of intimate things about himself. He is 73 going 74 this year in human flesh. That is his physical birthday (Dec., 20, 1947 – Dec., 20, 2020). But he is 41. That is his spiritual birthday (Jan., 1, 1980 to Jan., 1 2021).

Many don’t also know his real name. We can tell you. He is Mohammed Sahib Ajirobatan Akanji Dan Ibrahim Akinbami. Many don’t also know that the name Al-Maharaj, was the title given to pilgrims who visited Abdul Kareem (now popularly known as Prophet Mohammed) in Mecca who was then the Living Perfect Master. This title got corrupted in the tongue over the years, as ALHAJI.

He says he is the reigning Christ/Mohammed incarnate, now ruling and Spiritually re-ordering the Earth Planet.

His nucleus universal earth-base is at Maharaj Village in, Ibadan. It is the Centre for Divine Knowledge & Conflict Resolution in the Holy City of Ibadanland. Many also don’t know that he is the Atayese & Spiritual Commander Worldwide of the Aborigine Ogboni Fraternity. Below are excerpts of his 2 hour interview.

Anytime we see Satguru Maharaj you are always in White and shades of Red. Today, you are in all white with a touch of red and your Mercedes Benz car that you drove here yourself is all red. What is the significance of those 2 colours?

It is because over the years we were told that White is Saintly, Black is Evil and Bad. But through divine knowledge we were able to know that it is a different case. Colours carry a lot of admiration. When you see me going, you will know that I am a man of peace. Yes. We now add other colours. Red is for Love. Black is for Purity, White is for Peace. Yellow is for Wisdom. And Green is for Fertility and so on. I wear white all the time because I want to express, and show that I am a man of Peace. That is why I wear white all the time. When you wear white people will be able to know where you stand, hygienically.

You will know when it is dirty. So you can quickly adjust yourself.

How about flowers? Satguru always carries Flowers. Why? What is the significance of flowers?

Over the ages, we grow up to find flowers in Hospitals & big houses. But today, we have found out that Flowers represent Love.

That is why when somebody marries, he or she gives out flowers as gifts. Or when a visitor visits the country they send a little girl to give him or her Flowers to show that they love that person. But in the case of Maharaj, any flower you present to me resolves any issue you are having. I am not talking of the plastic one. I am talking of the fresh ones.

If somebody has a problem and he feels like telling me he or she talks into the flower and hands it over to Maharaj your problem will be over.

As for Red, you know it, Red is Love. Our blood is Red. But the Oyinbo man is so crafty. They now changed the colour of Love to Blue, whereas you know well that if somebody is dead clinically, the blood will turn Blue. But today, I have come to change all that thinking to Correct Thinking. That is why you see me always in Red & White. Red represents Love & Peace. And with that you will always produce Harmony among them.

When people talk about Sat Guru Maharaj, they call you Living Perfect Master, and earlier today you also spoke about having a large followership all over the world. Can you tell us the meaning of that description and about your followership?

They call me Living Perfect Master because I am alive. I am not like Jesus Christ. He doesn’t eat eba, neither am I like Prophet Mohammed, He doesn’t eat Kunu, He doesn’t drink Fanta, but I do, and so I am living. You saw me walking in here and I am driving a Mercedes. So, I am different because I am living. Perfect in the sense that I reveal that prophet life course within man to man. Once it’s revealed, man becomes peaceful. You are able to see yourself in the spiritual realm, as somebody very special, who cannot lose his life, and that’s why they call me Master. Living Perfect Master; the one who teaches perfectness, who reveals the perfect life’s course within man.

I am Living that is why they say I am the Living Perfect Master, The Revealer of God or Allah within man.

Why do you drive yourself sir?

Because we are in wartime, yes spiritually. I have to show some kind of exemplary leadership for everybody to know.

There is a particular house on Ajayi Road, Ogba where it was said your mother lived sometimes ago. Kindly tell us about your growing up years?

I never lived on Ajayi road before, neither did I grow up in Lagos. But I learnt that I was born on December 20, 1947 in a village called Tutuka, a suburb of the then leading Goldmining town in the whole of Africa, Igboaise in the Ashante district of Ghana. I had my primary school in Tukuka Primary School in Igboaise Methodist. Then in 1960, we moved to Accra where I attended the Pioneer Training Institute, where they teach all subjects. I left there for Nigeria in 1961. I didn’t come to Lagos immediately, I stayed in Ibadan, spent some time with my elder sister who is a Princess of Ede, Sister Bolanle.

I stayed there, in fact, I was hawking Akara, if I didn’t sell well I can’t eat meat, na! ponmo, even the ponmo, she would not cook it (laughs) before I moved to Ibadan, from Ibadan I went to meet my sister who happens to be married to Chief A.B.P. Martins, Baba Ewe of Iseyin. He was a member of the House of Western House of Assembly, from there, I came back to Ibadan then I was sent to meet my Uncle, a Professor in Lagos in 1964, that was the time I went into Commercial Education again until I got a job in 1965 with Earnest Transport in Apapa. From there I switched over to YCC in 1971, where I became Father Xmas. In 1971, I switched over to Garment Factory, a subdivision of cloth from there I moved to Ladder Nigeria Limited, a company owned by Chief Lekan Salami and that was where I was working before I moved to Triannah Clearing and Forwarding in 1975. Then I planned and travelled abroad and came back. So, I never lived in those areas you said.

How then did you get the calling?

It’s not a Calling as such, Masters have been coming and going and so the Grace was there. Even though, as a human being, my leaving Nigeria was not to come back. All of us planned that we won’t come back. But, when I got to Europe, I heard about Divine Light, that there is a light within man and the person was Sat Guru Maharaj, I went there and I was really interested because for the first time I was in a gathering where they were talking about the Creator, but they were not rebuking anybody. They were not fearing anybody. People were sharing the experiences of what had been happening to them, so I stayed. And the 3rd year, I was praying for Knowledge, only to be told that in 1976 in University Chevsilovania in USA my name was mentioned as the predecessor, that I was the one to take over from him and that was it. I packed my loads, 17th July, I was in Nigeria, proclaiming the light.

When you hear the name Sat Guru Maharaj there is always this perception of someone with strange magical power, a man who commands Spirits. How true is this, and what sort of power do you actually have?

A Master is the epitome of Peace, over and above what human being could be thinking or imaging. The power for self-realisation, for saviour to come. It’s not something for somebody who will behave like a President of a country or a Governor of a state or a Field Marshal. You need somebody who could touch your heart. Somebody who could relate with your heart. Somebody you could call anywhere you are. The power within me is simply The Power of the Creator. Otherwise, how could I ask someone to call me in Paris and I am answering them here? Just last year a 61-year-old lady came to tell the whole world that I taught her how to make an aircraft in Ijaw language. So, whatever they are saying, it’s part of the colonial ploy to paint me negative, so that people would not come. If you go into real analysis.

The amount of Quran we are buying, the quantity of Bible we are buying every year is enough to make Nigeria the richest country in the world. And for somebody, who is saying come, I have changed the whole situation now, instead of you reading to know or how do I read book to know you if you are my friend? Do I need to read book?

So, that is the cause. They are the ones involved, the religion groups in Europe and America, saying all sorts of things. See me sitting among you here; meanwhile, they would say if you see that man, you will do this, you will do that, na lie ooo? (laugh).

I know two of your branches, in Lagos here which one did you start first?

When I arrived Lagos, I wrote letters to so many leaders. I visited them. It’s only 2 who replied me. Dr. Melford Okilo and Chief MKO Abiola. They didn’t understand the import of my message. I wasn’t going there for money, but I wanted them to know about the only legacy that will bring about the golden name that we lost. I decided to go looking for job. I got a job and  I stayed there for about a year.

The money I gathered in between, we used it to have a centre owned by one Architect Kofi Addo and some Yorubas came, one of them was Chief Onifade. I spoke to him that we needed a place urgently, because I have been given order that, if by May ending, I didn’t have a place then I would have to go across the border. Then I would know that things could work. You couldn’t go to Ghana, Liberia and all. Nigeria is where the power should be. And so, the Chief went, only to come back on the 3rd day that he has a house for me, That I should pay 1 year rent. I told him I have only 3 months here at the rate of N450.

He went, only to add 3 more months to it and next he brought the key, and that was how we had the one in Iju road, Ashram. We started there, in fact, we own the house now. The landlord gave it to us, and from there; in fact in 1986 our whole worship centre was brought down by the government of Raji Rasak, only for me to know later on that he is my cousin, I was begging. All of a sudden in the experience a big Chimpanse came, he said “Baba, why do you want to kill us”? I looked as it, he spread the hand, I jumped into its hands and we flew down to a new site, and he said take any place you want there and I woke up. It was a dream. Only to see in the second week a woman who came to the site and asked why the place was in ruins.

I told her the government did not give any reason except to say that the place was not for worship, it’s a residential area. Then, the Mana said, she had a plot of land, that I should follow her. We went there and she showed me a place and said I should pay for it. Only to know that the land is owned by Papa Ogundimu, he is a landlord to even Lagos State Government.

I met the Papa, he also came to check it up, and that was how the 2nd place started.

How about the camp?

It’s not a camp (laughs). It’s the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. It’s a long story. The journey started with one very good man, a controller of Custom. He came to me one afternoon and he said: “Are you Maharaj”? I said “Yes”. He said, “I have lost my 3 brothers; 2 graduates and 1 doctor in the US, they were going to be flown in any time from now but they were saying that I was the one they were looking for, Maharaj save me”. The first thing I told him was to remove the chain on his neck, that its the chain they were using to monitor him. He removed it and that was it. He was the one who asked me to follow him to Ibadan and gave us the place.
