On Wednesday 7th July, 2021, His Royal Majesty, Kabiyesi Oba David Olajide Omisore, Omigbade 1, The Olu of Ayepe-Olode in Osun State, also the father of popular Osun politician, Sen. Iyiola Omisore clocked 90, and an elaborate, one in town birthday party was held both in his town, Garage Olode and in Ile-Ife for the reception.
The talk-of-the-town birthday ceremony kicked off with a Thanksgiving Celebration at the Christ Apostolic Church, Canaan Land, Olode, Ife South LGA, Osun State, under the leadership and supervision of General Evangelist C.A.C Worldwide, Prophet/Evang. Hezekiah Oluboye Oladeji. The thanksgiving was followed by an elaborate reception in Ile Ife, at the newly completed Royal Resort in Ile Ife, a beautiful edifice owned by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Oba Ojaja II).
This great event witnessed the presence of many prominent dignitaries, monarchs, notable chiefs, friends and family members of Omisore’s dynasty and well-wishers. LET’S START WITH THE BIRTHDAY THANKSGIVING
The birthday party of His Royal Majesty, Kabiyesi, Oba David Olajide Omisore (Omigbade 1, The Olu of Ayepe-Olode, in Osun State, who is also the father of popular Osun State politician, Iyiola Omisore, kicked off with a Thanksgiving at the Christ Apostolic Church, Canaan Land, Olode, Ife South LGA, Osun State. It was under the leadership and supervision of General Evangelist C.A.C Worldwide, Prophet/Evang. Hezekiah Oluboye Oladeji, alongside many officiating Ministers.
The well-decorated church was filled to the brim with the presence of many dignitaries. And the order service was well-coordinated, interesting and it was a joyous moment for all the members of Omisore’s family, as they danced and rejoiced; giving thanks to God for sparing the life of their father, grandfather, and most especially their King for 90 years in the land of the living. The service lasted for about 3 hours and all guests later moved down to Ile-Ife town for the entertainment of Guests.
THE RECEPTION
The entertainment of guests in honour and celebration of the 90th birthday of His Royal Majesty, Kabiyesi, Oba David Olajide Omisore (Omigbade 1, The Olu of Ayepe-Olode in Osun State took place at the newly completed Ile-Ife Grand Resort in the city, a beautiful edifice owned by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Oba Ojaja II). The edifice is situated in a very beautiful environment. It is located on the right side of the road, as you are entering the town from the roundabout area. The Grand Resort is a hub for many interesting things as revealed by Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and it gladdened everyone’s heart that the 90th birthday celebration of Oba David Olajide Omisore was the first event to hold in the beautiful edifice, and Kabiyesi gave it for use for free to the Omisore family. Most of the things used, including the Chairs and the tables were brand new. A very spacious event hall, beautifully decorated for the birthday celebration. All Covid-19 protocols were strictly observed. The event was planned by one of the best event planners in town Condollezza events, owned by Folawe Olumdi, whose presence also added to the success of the event. She and her event’s coordinators made sure the event was one in town.

The 90th birthday of Oba Omisore witnessed the presence of over 30 monarchs, why? Because Oba David Omisore is a well-respected king among his contemporaries. They love him and it showed in how they all turned up for him, from different communities and states. But one of the monarchs, who caught guests attention was the stylish and handsome Orangun of Oke Ila, Hrm Oba Adedokunbo Abolarin. He dazzled in his complete embroidered agbada (Aso Oke) outfit with his beautiful Olori.

One of the dignitaries who also caught people’s attention earlier was the handsome and photogenic Hon. Shina Peller, the Honourable representative of the good people of Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa, Kajola federal constituency in Oyo State. The honourable walked into the hall majestically in his Blue Agbada outfit.
BETWEEN BASHY KUTI, BAYO ADELABU (PENKELEMESI) AND FRIENDS
At any event as classy as the 90th birthday of Oba Omisore it is expected to see society and celebrity men. Those who matter in society. And your list would never be complete if you miss out on someone like Ibadan Fashion designer, a fashion icon per excellence, Bashy Kuti. He has never disappointed in his outfits at any party. Always looking gorgeous. And sitting on the same table with him was one of the powerful politicians dominating Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, popularly known as Penkelemesi. He was also the former APC Governorship candidate in Oyo State. Many of their friends were also on the same table.

The presence of Ekiti State Gov, Dr. Fayemi and Ondo State Gov, Arakunrin, Rotimi Akeredolu was felt at the Church service to honour Omisore’s family on the occasion of the 90th birthday of his Royal Majesty, Kabiyesi Oba David Olajide Omisore (Omogbade 1), the Olu of Ayepe-Olode.
GOV OYETOLA’S TRIUMPHANT ENTRY
You need no one to tell you that there is a strong relationship between Sen. Iyiola Omisore and Osun State Governor, His Excellency, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. It was manifested on the birthday ceremony when the Governor came in triumphantly with Senator Iyiola Omisore. And he was very much around till almost the end of the event. He also conducted the cutting of the cake.
OONI OF IFE DAZZLED
Kabiyesi, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, played his role as a father indeed. He was in church and also at the reception. Remember, if he was called the royal father of the day and the chief host, it is not wrong. It will interest you to know that Ooni was in a very happy mood at this event, as he exchanged banters with people. He was also on ground until King Sunny Ade called it a day. People were happy to see Ooni dance with Senator Iyiola Omisore too. It was a day and moment people would not forget easily.
CHIEF BISI AKANDE PRESIDED AT THE OCCASION
Chief Bisi Akande was the Chairman of the great event. He praised Oba Omisore, spoke about many of his good deeds for his community. He also eulogized Senator Iyiola Omisore for keeping the family of Omisore together, and for taking care of the celebrator. Don’t forget that Omisore was Baba Akande’s Deputy.
