Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed disappointment in his team’s behaviour towards winning in recent times, having found it difficult to win a game in their last four appearances.
Liverpool are yet to win a game since dubbing Arsenal four nil in the Premier League and have added to their woes after a 2-0 thumping by Leicester City leaving them out of the Carabao cup.
Klopp while speaking in the League press conference said that he hopes his team bounces back to winning ways.
“It’s concentration but it’s a little bit of readiness. In different moments we concede goals with the first goal. We now use formation better but we need to fight for second balls.
“We come too close together in the first formation for the first ball, which means we don’t use the right formation for the second ball.
“That’s what we have to work on. Each manager in football has another hole to fill.
“If you asked me if I wanted my team perfect defending set pieces but not able to play football, I’d choose the other one.
“We concede the first goal against Seville, Burnley and respond really well.
“In two games I saw enough but in one game I didn’t see enough.”
“I already know the problems and have already decided what to do.
“By talking about it I only create headlines. “It sounds like we have nil points and are the worst team in the league.”
“We have proved it already hundreds of times. We obviously have problems that’s why we have only eight points and not fifteen. We can take it like it is. We still have work to do.
“Yes, we have the right characters. Sometimes we react well, other times not perfectly. We can improve. Character is nothing fixed. You can’t say you cannot change your mentality, of course, we can.”
“You can imagine the difficulty of our situation. We play really well but in the end, we don’t score often enough so far but I think that’s a minor problem.
“A lot of things work really well and our opponents struggle to defend us, but it’s been too easy for opponents to make an impact with one situation.
“We need to be more concentrated in these situations and we have to be more clinical.”
“He’s not in training and is a doubt for the weekend. That’s not too cool. Matip and Can also have bits from the last game. We have to see. Hopefully, they can be back in training today or at least tomorrow, but we have to wait.” Klopp concluded.
