The ambience was calm as happiness and joy rented the air on Wednesday 17 and Friday 19, 2019 when the Frontliners Schools in Akowonjo and Alakuko area of Lagos send forth 50 pupils into higher ground. The event was fun-filled and remain indelible in the minds of the graduands as they set another standard for the upcoming pupils.
The graduation cum prize giving day was held on Wednesday 17, July 2019 at the School Hall at Alakuko-Agbado road by Tifedayo, Agbado and on Friday 19, July 2019 at Spring Field Centre, Ifelodun Street, Orisumbare road, Ejigbo both in Lagos.
The event kicked off at noon with soul-lifting praise and worship from the Frontliners staffers followed by the opening prayer led Mr Alabi Aderemi, the school administrator after which both the national and school anthem was sang, the special guests were called to the high table and introduction of the 2018/2019 graduands was announced followed by the Director of Studies, Mrs E.S. Aliu welcome speech.
In her speech, she expressed great delight in welcoming both parents/graduands to this year graduation and prize-giving ceremony which wraps up the 2018/2019 academic year, also gave gratitude to the Almighty God for his faithfulness towards the completion of this session, moreover, enjoyed tremendous favour from God and parents who had supported them financially and morally.
Furthermore, she also extended a warm greeting to the graduating pupils, parents, teachers and especially the amiable PTA Executive Members for their commitment towards the progress of the school which had assisted them in no small measure to attain their lofty height and still remain at the top.
Immediately after her speech the graduating pupils were prayed for by their respective parent, thereafter the introduction of new perfects to take over the mantle of leaders from 2018/2019 prefects and the investiture was performed by Mrs E.S. Aliu, the Director of Studies, who charged them to portray a good leadership skills and be an exemplary leader to other pupils Mrs Akingbade prayed for the new prefects.
Presentations were made by Nursery and Primary Pupils, the school choir, drama group, cultural performances in Egun and Uhrobo tribe, Taekwando display to add glitz and glamour to the event, while the farewell speech was read by both the Headboy/Headgirl of both centre respectively.
The cream of the event was the sterling performances of 2018/2019 pupils reeled out by Mr Fasakin Benjamen, Head of School, Agbado Centre, he stated that the school participated in various Intra/inter-school competition amongst schools spread across Lagos such as Spelling Bee competition, The Ultimate Mathematics Ambassadors (TUMA 2019), ICT competition, Debate/Quiz competition to mention but few, in all these, the school received several awards/laurel from different categories. The school produced 1st position in primary category held on 13, February 2019 at Golden Triangle Schools, moreso, 2 of their pupils went for debate competition held on 29th March 2019 and they qualified for NAPPS Ifako Ijaiye Chapter for the senior final held at Lagoon School, came 2nd overall in the final stage held at UNILAG.
In addition, 3 of their pupil represented the school in the TUMA 2019 competition on 12th of January, 2019 for the 1st stage, to the glory of God, they qualified for the second stage and made it through to the top 20 and one of them came 6th overall among over 1242 participants.
The graduating list of the Nursery 2 of both centres include Simon Alao, Divine Ibrahim, Williams Adeoye, Olumide Akinsanya, Inioluwa Oruku, Isuraoluwa Adewole, Rachel Osagbodje, Deborah Popoola, Tomiwa Otepola, Anjola Oloko, Nadimi Odiachi, Olorunfemi Joshua, Oluwanifemi Adefemi, Adesewa Adeoye, Omotola Onile-Owo, Venus Ogundele, Great Showunmi, Akolade Abimbola, Lawal Teniola, Erhuvwu Ovakporaye, Okon Eunice, Ilenaje Annabella, Sammy Gold, Mayegun Toluwani, Jason Afama Eromosele, Boboye Havilah, Akinfala Niniola and Lawrence Temidayo, while the grade 5 graduands were Matilukuro Omodesola, Ajie Imoter, Enwerem Chigozirim, Falana Anjola, Bamigbola Oluwasolape, Benson Tomike, Babatunde Dipo, Oladejo Funke Blessing, Akinola Amarachi, Olanrewaju Oladunni, Bolaji Darasimi, Akerele Ajibola, Olubayo Olamide, Adewole Olusegun, Ogundare Opeyemi, Ethelbert David, Olabode Olusa-Anuoluwa, Owadayo Bridget, Tunde Adegbesin Jesufikayode, Adeleye Adedotun, Oloyede Eniola and Chukwu Kamsiyo.
Awards were given to best pupils both in the pre-school and primary level as well as teachers (teaching & non-teaching staff) who have diligently served the school in all capacities namely in Agbado Centre, Felix Motomi – Best Dressed Teaching Staff, Adebisi Badmus – Most Punctual Staff, Esther Jodah – Most Diligent Class Assistant, Toyin Makanjuola – Most Committed Sanitation Staff of the Year, Omodele Adeniyi – Most Outstanding Driver, Ayodele Dare – Most Outstanding Visiting Part-Time Teacher, Esther Asamo – Well Dressed Non-Teaching Staff, Kehinde Onifade – Outstanding Non-Teaching Staff and Olubunmi Fasakin – Outstanding Teaching Staff, while in Akowonjo Centre Nwankpa Edith – Best Dressed Teaching Staff, Mathew Micheal – Most Punctual Staff, Isiaka Temitope – Most Diligent Class Assistant, Akintunde Taiwo – Oustanding Teaching Staff, Ayuba Lawal – Outstanding Non-Teaching Staff, Ayantola Dupe – Best Dressed Non-Teaching Staff, Idakwoji Beauty – Most Committed Sanitation Staff, Ogunjim Sunday – Most Outstanding Driver and Ayodele Dare – Most Oustanding Visiting Part-Time Teacher.
The parents of 2018/2019 graduands also appreciated the effort of both the teaching and non-teaching staff with a surprise gift also presented two standing fans to the School Management.
Right now the school is on vacation and will commence 2019/2020 academic session on the 16 September 2019, admission still on for new intake.
