Why Court Sentenced Man, 33, To Death By Hanging

The Bauchi State High Court number 6 has sentenced a 33-year-old man to death by hanging for killing an 11-years-old girl.

The accused, Jaridu Ahmad was convicted for killing and burying the girl, Hajara Adamu corpse in a ‎room on 30th August, 2015.

The Court presided over by Justice Gurama Muhammad Mahmud found the accused guilty of Culpable Homicide punishable under Section 221 of the Penal Code Laws Cap 38 Vol.3 Laws of Bauchi State 2007.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Gurama Muhammad Mahmud said that the accused should die by hanging for his offence.

“On the whole therefore, I found you, Jaridu Ahmad, guilty of the ‎offence of Culpable Homicide punishable under Section 221 of the Penal Code Law Cap 38 Laws of Bauchi State 2007.

“Having confessed to doing an act which caused the death of one, Hajara Adamu with the intention of causing her death or knowing that the death will be the probable consequence of your act.

“As already stated, the punishment for this offence is death which is mandatory. ‎The sentence of the Court upon you, Jaridu is death, so that you will be hanged by your neck until you are certified dead.”
