Gone are the days when actresses don’t want to be seen in bikini, it is believed to be a private thing and thus, should be treated as such, but all these have changed now, as lots of them, now derive joy taking pictures in their bikini and sharing it on social media, though many have frowned at this latest trend, saying, as Africans, it is wrong, also considering the fact that they are mothers and lots of younger ones looks up to them in the society as role models.
But some other people have also jumped to their defence that, Nigerians are quick to judge people, also that they celebrate international stars such as Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and lots of others, appreciate their sexy bodies when they see they see them in bikini but condemn their own celebrities when see in such outfit, thereby creating double standards for things. A popular U.S. based Nollywood actress Georgina Onuorah aired her views on the same topic, she was of the opinion that women are expected to wear bikini to swim, not tie rapper, so there’s nothing wrong in taking pictures in the process and sharing the beautiful pictures as well, also that most men that are condemning these ladies, go behind and send them DM secretly.
So they should be free to do what they dime fit, with their hot bodies.
Some of these celebrities are into skincare products, so most often, flaunting, their semi-nude bodies is a way of advertising their products.
Take, for example, Mercy Aigbe is the CEO of Flawless Skin by Mercy, and she uses as herself as a model for all her products, ranging from skincare products to clothing and boubou as well.
It was movie icon Genevieve Nnaji’s semi-nude picture that went viral, there was no much criticism from her fans, a lot of people praised and admired her sexy body at 40.
The moment Mercy Aigbe, Uforma Macdermott and Lilian Esoro shared similar picture, all earth let loose, as lots of people raise insult on them, saying they are mothers and role models and should lay a good example for others to follow, but these actresses have decided to leave their lives according to their terms, not minding what people say or how people feel.
Another celebrity who has been setting the social media on fire with nude pictures is Toyin Lawani, the CEO of Tianahp Empire. Toyin has grown a thick skin and less bothered about what people say about the pictures she displays on her pages all the time.
