Why Pastor ADEBOYE Had A Change Of Mind About Late Prophet T. B. JOSHUA

by Wale Lawal

The late Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, the founder of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), whose unfortunate passing occurred on June 5th, 2021, has been buried with pomp, but weeks after his burial, the many dust raised by his death is yet to settle. It will be recalled that while thousands of people all over the world mourned the passing of the popular and controversial televangelist, some notable men of God, including the Christian Association of Nigeria, refrained from mourning him or even sending a condolence message to the bereaved family of the late prophet. Two of the prominent men of God whom many expected would sympathise with the family but simply ignored the passing of the late televangelist are Pastor Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and Bishop Oyedepo of the Winners Chapel.

But many were stunned days ago when the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) release a statement saying Pastor Adeboye,of The Redeemed Christian Church of God had actually sent a condolence letter to late TB Joshua’s family, empathizing with the wife and actually prayed for her and her children. This came as a shock to many. What was even more shocking is the revelation contained in the letter. Pastor Adeboye claimed to have seen late TB Joshua seated at the feet of Jesus and that both of them shall meet again. For somebody who once claimed in a video that went viral that TB Joshua tried to kill him, coming from Pastor Adeboye, this was more than stunning as well as heartwarming. It goes to prove beyond reasonable doubt that whatever grudge Pastor Adeboye bore against the late TB Joshua, he has since forgiven the late televangelist. Here is a full text of the letter:   ”Calvary greetings in Jesus name. We want to join millions of people across the globe to register our condolence with you on the passing of your husband, Pastor T.B. Joshua. “We take solace in the Lord, believing that we shall meet again at the feet of the Lord Jesus on the resurrection morning.

“We, therefore, pray for you, your children and the entire church that, the Lord will uphold all of you and such untimely death shall cease in our midst in Jesus mighty name,

“Be assured of our continuous prayers. Yours in Him. Pastor E.A. Adeboye, General Overseer.”

But why did Pastor Adeboye, a man regarded as perhaps the biggest Pentecostal father in the country today fail to condole with the family of the late Prophet TB Joshua initially? What transpired between them? Why didn’t he see eye to eye with late TB Joshua till he passed on weeks ago? City People findings reveal shocking revelations that underline the frosty relationship between the late TB Joshua and Pastor Adeboye and why he, Pastor Adeboye, chose not commiserate with the family of the late prophet until after people started calling on the revered man of God to bury the hatchet and do the needful. It all started many years ago when TB Joshua came on the scene, performing mouth gaping miracles that left many speechless and announcing himself on the big stage in the country’s Christendom in a way that had many of the conventional prophets wondering if he was a real man of God or not. Many of them began to distance themselves from him while some came out openly to dissociate the various Christian bodies from him. But TB Joshua was not the least perturbed. He continued to grow his ministry with the membership increasing astronomically with every passing day and eventually, he was able to build the gargantuan worship empire that he left behind. The synagogue became Nigeria’s most popular church, attracting foreigners from all over the world who trooped in in their thousands to seek audience with the man they had all grown to love and follow. But this did not in any way make the cold relationship between late TB Joshua and these men of God any better, if anything, it only got worse.

For Pastor Adeboye, it was a lot more serious than the mere cold shoulders he and other prominent men of God were giving the late prophet owing to the controversial nature of his evangelism. Pastor Adeboye was once asked if he could go to Prophet TB Joshua’s church to worship and he was quoted to have said: “No, definitely not! If he wants me to come and minister in his church, we will sit down, we will discuss the issue of salvation the way I understand it, according to the scriptures. If we agree on that and he now wants me to come and preach the same message of salvation in his church, then I will go.”

Clearly, as far as Pastor Adeboye was concerned, Joshua was not truly born again and so he could not associate either openly or discreetly with him.

In a video that went viral not so long ago, Pastor Adeboye was seen addressing the congregation and warning them to desist buying things that had his picture or that of his wife printed on it. He said it was wrong for people to begin to celebrate his him by putting his image on various things and hang them in their homes. According to him, he said: “It has been brought to my attention that people now sell car keys, bracelets, etc, with my picture or that of my wife on it. May I appeal to you in the mighty name of Jesus, don’t buy it from them. If you have bought them, throw them away. If you see anybody selling them, report them to the police. I didn’t send them, I have nothing to do with them. I am an ordinary man, I am not God. What these people are doing can lead to serious trouble, not for them but for me. God will not share his glory with any man. If at any time God senses that one man is trying to share his glory, that man is dead. And whether the devil likes it or not, I am not going yet. I am not going anywhere yet. So, if you find anybody selling anything with my picture there, either with my picture or that of my wife, report them to the police. It’s not only that, a woman bought one from them, gave it to a child, and you know children, anything you give them they think it is food and so the child began to eat it. The mother tried to take it away from the child and when she did, she discovered that my picture there had opened and underneath it was the picture of TB Joshua and you know what that means. Please, don’t cooperate with anybody who tries to kill me.”

This shocking revelation from Pastor Adeboye has shed more light on the question as to why the renowned man of God failed to commiserate with the family of the late televangelist. But it has also got so many people asking the question: could this be true? Why would late TB Joshua want to kill anyone let alone a man of God? Was the late prophet TB Joshua truly evil as some claim? We may never find the answers to these questions. TB Joshua has since departed this world and will never be in a position to answer any question from any of us and defend himself ever again. The only person whose questions he will have to answer to now is God Almighty. But followers of both great men of God can at least heave a sigh of relief knowing that there no longer exists a conflict between their beloved fathers in the Lord as the older man of God had reconciled with the younger and no longer bore any grudge against him. Instead, he not only prayed for the family he left behind but also revealed that the late TB Joshua is actually with Jesus. Coming from Pastor Adeboye, this is indeed cheering news.
