The music industry has removed a lot of individuals from the street and transformed them into well-to-do persons in the society. This is often the popular story, as a saying goes – “From grass to grace”. Now, it has been observed that this is not always the case. Today, there are a good number of top Nigerian music artistes who had it much easier than their counterparts, while growing up. Such lucky artistes could be said to have come from “Grace to more Grace”. They made it so fast and big in the music industry without going through the usual despicable groveling. This is because they had a better foundation and the start-up money for their profession was available when needed. They were born rich and they have stayed rich, and they have never tasted poverty. DAVIDO

David Adeleke, popularly known by his stage name, Davido or Omo Baba Olowo (OBO), is a popular Nigerian singer, songwriter and recording artiste. He is the son of a renowned Nigerian business mogul and billionaire, Adedeji Adeleke. He has gone on to become one of the biggest artistes in Nigeria even though his father initially frowned at him for abandoning school to become an entertainer. Davido was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America (USA) and relocated to Lagos at a young age. His debut album, Omo Baba Olowo, was released in 2012. Davido has released several hit single which have won him several awards like Headies Award, MTV Video Music Award, Nigeria Entertainment Award, BET Awards and many others. Davido is a sensational Nigerian singer and song writer, who is one of those young Nigerian artistes who have swept for themselves awards from  the Nigerian entertainment scene with their outstanding hit songs. His father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, is the chairman of Keplo-Pacific Energy, a company which is into banking, steel, power and energy. Davido’s father is also the founder and pro-chancellor of Adeleke University, Ede in Osun State, Nigeria. Davido’s uncle, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, was a former Governor of Osun State.

DJ CUPPY

Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola popularly known by her stage name DJ Cuppy is a Nigerian female disc jockey, singer, songwriter and recording artiste. She is the daughter of  a Nigerian billionaire and business mogul Femi Otedola. Her father, Femi Otedola, is the Chairman of Forte Oil. He is also the Nigerian President and CEO of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited. Despite her father’s wealth, she is gradually making a name for herself in the entertainment industry as a DJ and musician. DJ Cuppy often makes attempts at blending with regular folks despite being a rich kid. She has attracted several fans and critics over the years. DJ Cuppy was born on 11th November 1992 in the United States of America (USA). She lived at Ilupeju for six years before moving to Ikeja the capital of Lagos State. She later moved to London in the United Kingdom, (UK) for her GCE ‘A’-Levels. DJ Cuppy graduated from King’s College, London in July 2014, with a degree in Business and Economics. She later earned a Master’s Degree in Music Business from New York University in the (USA) in 2015. She launched her latest project, House of Cuppy, on 8th August 2014.

BRED

Adebayo Adeleke popularly known by his stage name as B-Red is a popular Nigerian singer, songwriter and recording artistes. He is the son of a Nigerian politician, Ademola Adeleke, a Senator, who recently contested the Osun State governorship election. B-Red is also a cousin of a Nigerian top singer, Davido. B-Red was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America (USA) and relocated to Lagos, Nigeria to pursue his music career. He started his musical career in 2013 with the release of “Insane Girl” featuring Davido. It was produced by Shizzi. His uncle, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, was a former Governor of Osun State. While Adedeji Adeleke (Davido’s father) the chairman of Keplo-Pacific Energy, a company which is into banking, steel, power and energy is also his uncle.

FALZ

Folarin Falana popularly known by his stage name Falz is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and recording artiste. He is the son of a top Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana. Falz himself is a lawyer, but has made a name for himself in music. Recently he released a socially conscious music album entitled: Moral Instruction. Falz was born on 27th October 1990 in Lagos. He began his music career while still in secondary school when he formed a group called “The School Boys” with his friends. His professional career as an artiste began in 2009. Falz became a public figure after his song “Marry Me” won him a nomination in the “Best Collaboration of The Year” category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. He was also nominated in the “Best Rap Act of The Year” and “Best New Act to Watch” categories at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

LAX

Damilola Afolabi popularly known by his stage name L.A.X is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and a recording artiste. He is the son of a Nigerian billionaire and industrialist, Taiwo Afolabi, who is the founder of SIFAX Group, a company that deals in oil and gas. L.A.X was formerly signed on Wizkid’s label, Star Boy entertainment, in 2013. L.A.X was born on 10th April, 1993, in Lagos. He started out as a rapper and was part of a three-man group called Flyboiz, while he was still in high school. On 20th August, 2013, he signed a major-label deal with Starboy Entertainment, a few days after releasing the critically acclaimed song entitled: “Caro” which won him the “Diaspora Artiste of The Year” at the 2014 edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Awards. A few years later, he launched his record label tagged, Rasaki records. Since then, LAX has been dropping hits back to back. He featured the Legendary 2 Baba in one of his latest songs

LYNXX

Chukki Edozien popularly known by his stage name Lynxx is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and recording artiste. He came into the music scene in the last quarter of 2009 in grand style, releasing his first single “change your parade” and went on to release another hit song “fine lady”, featuring Wizkid. He is the first Nigerian artiste to be endorsed by global brand, Pepsi. His father, John Edozien, is a tycoon, being the Chairman of a number of Nigerian Companies, including Jenkyns Consult Nigeria Limited and Mercedes Benz Automobile Services Limited. He also serves as Director of Linkage Assurance Plc and Diamond Bank plc since 2008.

NAETO C

Naeto C was born Naetochukwu Chikwe on the 17th of Dec, 1982, the son of  Dr. Mrs. Kema Chikwe and Chief Herbert Chikwe. He is from Owerri in Imo state. His mother, Dr. Kema Chikwe, was the former Nigerian Ambassador to Ireland and also a former Minister of Aviation. Naeto C was born in Houston, Texas (USA). Once he decided to pursue a career in music, he got all the support he needed from his family. Today, he is a Nigerian rapper, a music producer, and an Afrobeat artiste. He adopted Naeto C as his stage name. The guy was born into money and he is still swimming in it. With the way his skin is glows, it is beyond a most point that he has not tasted Agege bread.

DJ EXCLUSIVE

DJ Exclusive is, no doubt, one of the top Disk Jockeys (DJs) in Nigeria.  He’s not exactly a music artiste, he has a good number of music features to his credit. A prominent mention in this regard is Alhaji (featuring Tiwa Savage). DJ Exclusive was born in the United Kingdoms to a Nigerian mom and a Nigerian dad. However, he later came back to Lagos, Nigeria where, at a tender age, he was subsequently enrolled at the prominent Kings College, Lagos. After his secondary education, DJ Xculisive headed back to the UK, where he eventually obtained his B.Sc. degree. The popular DJ, whose real name is Alakija Rotimi, is a nephew of Nigeria’s richest woman, Madam Folorunsho Alakija, who is one of the top oil bloc owners in Nigeria. DJ Xclusive’s family is, without doubt, one of the wealthiest and most influential in the country.

OZZYBOSCO

This gifted kid musician would not have gone this far without the help of some people especially financially and emotionally. Well, if you really want to know, popular his parents are very rich. His mum, Elizabeth Nonye Mojekwe, is a very successful not local but international businesswoman with lots of companies in her name. Now, you can see that the young man has strong support from home, and he is doing very well in the industry, having collaborated with some well-known and popular Nigerian musicians such as Olamide, Flavour, MI, etc.

TILLAMAN

You may not know him as one of the Nigerian musicians born rich but he is. Prince Adetona Adeyemi, who goes by the stage name Tillaman is on the list of Nigerian musicians born rich. Prince is not just a name he gave himself, he is actually a prince. His father is  His Royal Highness, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo. Tillaman is doing very well in the industry, with a very bright future, all thanks to his royal highness.
