A first-year female student of Moddibo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), has allegedly committed suicide due to her poor first-semester result.
It was gathered that the undergraduate of the department of Management; School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT), allegedly ingested insecticide in Oba Adetona Hostel of the University where she lodged, after seeing the result.
“She was a 100 level student of Management Department of the School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT). She saw her first semester result and had F in 9 courses so she went back to her hostel and drank ota pia pia” an eyewitness alleged.
The research-intensive university is located in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa State in Northeastern Nigeria.
