It was amidst joy and happiness on Sunday 3rd of April 2022 when the former first of Lagos, Lady Doja Otedola celebrated her 90th birthday in grand style. Many important personalities from all walks of life gathered together in Epe to celebrate this milestone with her. Many super-rich men and women stormed the St. Peter’s church and St Patrick’s school respectively for the church dedication and reception to honour all mama’s children. Despite the popularity of the Otedola family, as their Dad was the former Governor of Lagos State, one of the children who is also very popular and who made the Otedola name more prominent after so many years is billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola. It was on this premise that many super-rich big boys within his cadre stormed Epe to celebrate his mum with him.

It was a day that the corporate titans and businessmen had a meeting in Epe. It was also time for them to let their hair down amidst their all busy schedules. Femi Otedola has all these friends in different sectors of the economy and this also added so much colour and finesse to the party as all sectors were well represented from media, to banking, insurance, and business as a whole. It was indeed a payback time for Femi Otedola who also is a socialite per excellence who always honours A.class invites given to him.

Together with his 5 siblings, they hosted the crème de la crème to a show-stopping birthday party in Lagos. It was one birthday which has been the talk of the town for many days. He literally shut down the social media space with many paparazzi. To say millions were spent is indeed saying the expected, the Otedolas left no stone unturned, the reception took place at 3 different venues, and they catered for all excessively that the after-party still also had the presence of many guests.

The party surely had in attendance many important personalities from all walks of life. One of the many side attractions at the party were some big boys who stormed the party in large numbers. They are close friends of Femi Otedola in the business and social circle. They have been together for over 3 decades. While some of them were at the church service, some sent n their congratulatory messages while others stormed the reception proper. This set of super-rich ‘bigboys’ stole the show with their presence, they had a particular area where they all sat and hardly will you not find any prominent name on all the tables. They came in big with their exotic automobiles, chauffeur-driven into the venue, some flew in their private jets and they all have one thing that binds them together, “Money”. These moneybags know how to party and they always party big. They all came together to enjoy their time out with special performances from the King of world beats, King Sunny Ade.

Let’s go through the names of the retinue of big men who stormed Epe for Femi Otedola. First on the list were President Muhammadu Buhari who was ably represented by the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Gambari, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was also one of the important personalities who sent his well wishes to Femi Otedola and graced the ceremony, the speaker of the house of Representative, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila was also no left out in his goodwill messages. At the party was the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo who was at the church dedication in the morning, the number one citizen of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwoolu who is the host governor led many governors to the party. At the event were the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ekiti a State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba who was the chairman of the occasion and other former Governors of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Otunba Gbenga Daniel. The former Deputy Governor of Lagos, Otunba Femi Pedro was also sighted.

One person that can not miss the event for any reason was Dangote Group Chairman and richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote. His friendship with Femi Otedola, his closest ally cannot be quantified. He was the first caller at mama’s house in the morning of her birthday, he went to show his uncommon love for Femi Otedola’s mum. He was at the event all through to support his friend. Another money bag we sighted is billionaire businessman, Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, he was sitting at the same table with Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola. There was also a retinue of prominent Obas at the events’ sighted as one of the early callers at the church were Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his closest ally, who is also an Oba, Alara of Ilara Epe, Oba Folarin Ogunsanwo, Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Elegushi and many others.
