There is no stopping the beat for Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere at all. 2019 has been a great year for the Fuji maestro in all ramifications. When you see him, you can easily tell that God is on his side. He doesn’t look his age at all, even at 54, Omo Rapala crooner looks 30. His black complexion shines like a mirror. There is no how you will be with him and you won’t feel it that truly God has been on his side.
While 2019 has been year of trials for many, a year many were faced with lots of challenges, a year that is crowned with lots of shenanigans even from the government, yet, it’s a year many people like Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere will surely remember for good. This and many more he briefly shared with City People on how 2019 has been a great year for him.
How has it been for you so far?
It’s been great by the grace of God; it’s going on well. God has given me opportunities to thank him.
Is there anything you are working on, that your fans should expect from you?
There is never a dull moment for us, no stopping at all. We are always on the move. Talking of entertainment any day anytime, we are 100% ready. I am also present here, all for entertainment where we are celebrating Ayo Ewebiyi who organized Ogo Yoruba Gbode. Presently I’m working on my new album, titled “First Last Honor” it is basically on the new chieftaincy title I just received, the Agbaakin Abobagunwa of Yorubaland
How many tracks are in that album?
I can’t say anything about the tracks now because I’ve not been to the studio; I’m just working on it.
When should we expect it then?
By God’s grace, it will be out this December.
What’s your assessment of 2019, especially for you and entertainment generally?
As you can see God really favored me this year 2019, which I know He’s still going to favor me more and more in 2020. I have every reason to thank God for His faithfulness towards me this year. He gave me opportunities to give him thanks. How many of God’s blessings will I deny? Is it traveling from one country to another, endorsement, receiving of Chieftaincy title e.t.c. I just flew in from England this morning, purposely because of this event. So God has been so great to me and we are still moving on.
