Dr Thomas Wilson Ikubese, 2019 presidential aspirant from Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), has assured Nigerians that the party aspirants cannot be divided by internal politicking.
He made this statement at a media conference that occasioned the merger of two great platforms, Nigeria Intervention Movement, NIM and Alliance for a New Nigeria held on Wednesday, June 20, 2019, at the CAPS building, Adekunle Fajuyi Crescent, Adeniyi Jones in Ikeja Lagos.
Ikubese, who is also the convener of the YesWeFit Revolution, said that all the party aspirants in ANN, are all working towards a common goal, and are all ready to support whoever eventually emerge as the party flag bearer.
He stated:
The five of us here that are presidential aspirants we are not rivals. So, anywhere you find Fela speaking and you are queuing behind Elishama, applaud him. Anywhere you find Brown talking and you are queuing behind Ikubese, applaud him. It will be a misnomer for you to shout down Elishama because you are a supporter of Durotoye.
So if you are doing that, you are working against our collective goal because we are all together in this and not one person can make it happen except we all come together. Secondly, it will get to a point very soon that all of us will have to converge and present a common front.
Any presidential aspirant that refuses to fuse into that collective position, that refuses to submit his personal ambition into the collective ambition of rescuing this nation is a pervert.
So when we get to that point that we all say you go this way and the other person goes there and the rest of us stay behind that person if anyone veers away that time, the rest of you should leave that person. Because it means that person has a personal agenda.
Finally, 2019 is here it looks difficult but it will be possible. It’s going to be a deviation from where we are coming from. We are going to put everything that we have into it than we are doing right now so I’m appealing to everyone right now, the battle is not amongst us, it’s between us and them. Let’s put our hands together, put our house together and make it happen”, he said.
He also called on Nigerians to join forces with the movement and wrestle power from the ruling cabal, and set Nigeria on the path of recovery and progress.
