3 Movie Stars Hold Parties Same Day

On Sunday 30th April, 2023, three big parties took place in Lagos. Movie stars were seen shuttling from one party venue to another, to honour their colleagues in the industry who were celebrating. Adeniyi Johnson and Seyi Edun had a carnival like event to celebrate the birth of their twin babies.

Award winning film maker cum actor Kunle Afolayan treated his mother to a special 80th birthday party. Then the Queen mother, as she is fondly called, Iyabo Ojo also had shop opening in Lekki. The 3 events started almost at the same time 3pm, but many stormed Iyabo Ojo’s shop opening in Lekki first before going to the Mainland for the 2 other parties.

Iyabo Ojo is one of the most successful stars in the industry, and many don’t get surprised with her many achievements in the industry, because she is a very hardworking and super talented star. She is an actress, producer and entrepreneur and CEO of Fespris Limited, a collection of enterprises. Fespris consists of Abula Spot, Lounge Bar and other subsidiaries. She is one lady who has channelled her energy into several businesses and also groomed her kids to follow her footsteps.

She has been able to run her Fespris head office in Lekki Phase 1 alongside her kids, who also have personal businesses there and just decided to open another branch at Chevron Lekki. The new building house Fedel Wears, Priscy Closet, Priscy Delux, with her as the CEO Managing, the entire businesses.

It was declared opened by the highly respected U.K based promoter Dupe, and A list English and Yoruba movie stars made it to the event. Stars like Rita Dominic, Susan Peters, Anita Joseph, Lilian Afegbai, Mercy Aigbe, Kemi Afolabi, Pretty Mike of Lagos amongst so many celebrities made it to the very classy and luxury shop opening. Trust the host, Ageless Iyabo Ojo was looking stunning as ever in a black and gold outfits.

Also same day, highly talented and multiple award winning film maker Kunle Afolayan treated his mother to a superlative 80th birthday. The event took place at Funplex Event Centre, on CMD Road, Magodo, Lagos. It was an exclusive birthday party to celebrate grace in grandma’s life. Mama Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan is the first wife of the late movie legend Ade Love. It was a white and blue affair and notable faces in the industry also made it to the event.

During the event, Kunle Afolayan explained why he values his mother whom he always calls “MAAMI”. He appreciate her because she has been able to train all her children despite not having anything. She never relected and made sure they are all successful in life.  Stars like Fathia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Kehinde Bankole, Kunle Remi amongst so many others were in attendance to celebrate with the Afolayans.

Then later that same day over 100 movie stars stormed Ikeja for Adeniyi Johnson and Seyi Edun twin baby celebration. This particular event is one many won’t forget in a hurry. It was more or less like a carnival., as one can’t even talk about the stars that made it to the party. Basically all the notable names in the industry were present at the party.

It was a blue affair, as both actors and actresses all glamed up in blue aso ebi. The carnival like party was planned by dreamlandevent. Fabrics was supplied by strictly brides. It was the mother of all parties as the industry stood still for the Johnsons. This couple waited for 7 years in marriage before they welcomed their twin babies and the stars went out in large number to celebrate with them.

According to Adeniyi after they welcomed the twins “my wife and I waited for seven years. God is indeed good. He planned it as a birthday gift for me…” Even before the party proper, their colleagues thronged their home in Lagos to celebrate with them. And they got gifts from home and abroad for the celebration proper, so many were not surprised that the party turned out to be a carnival.

Adeniyi Johnson is also a member of the Afrimek group, and all the members stormed the party to celebrate with one of their own.
