3 Nollywood Marriages Crash In 6 Months

Celebrity marriages are known to be short lived especially that of entertainers and in the last 6 months, 3 celebrity marriages have reportedly packed up. The worst hit is the movie industry and most of the affected marriages were consummated barely 2 years ago. Precisely 5 months ago, news made the round that the marriage of fast rising actress Mimi Orjiekwe who wedded her husband who is also an actor Charles Billion in June 2015, had hit the rocks. The couple had an elaborate wedding that was well attended by movie buffs and the marriage had lasted for just a year and 5 months before the news of their separation broke. Mimi Orjiekwe and husband Charles Billion got married in July, 2015 and in October 2016, it was reported that their marriage had packed up over irreconcilable differences.

However, the actress is currently pregnant and her estranged husband was one of the guests present at her baby shower as shown in the party video. The following month, November 2016 also recorded the sad news of another fast rising actress Lillian Esoro’s marriage break up with her popular record label owner husband, Ubi Franklin, the brain behind Triple MG label.There’s was more controversial following the many unflattery reports that trailed their hush hush marriage a year earlier, November 2015.Recall the couple took all by surprise when they suddenly tied the knot with many celebrities in attendance.

The pretty actress welcomed a baby boy 8 months after their much talked about marriage and in November 2016, which was supposed to be their one year anniversary, her actions indirectly announced that the marriage was over. It was reported that infidelity and physical abuse were among the many reasons their marriage packed up 4 months earlier, immediately their son Jayden was born. It was also reported that Lillian Esoro initially rejected Ubi Franklin’s proposal but finally agreed to the marriage after much convincing from her friends and family which explained why she deleted her instagram account and every traces of the proposal back then, one of the actions that tagged her marriage as a controversial one back then.

 

Ubi and Lillian got married on November 2015 and are blessed with one son, Jayden. Lillian reportedly moved out of her husband’s house after she returned from the US where she had her baby and ensured she disassociated herself from everything that had to do with her hubby.She was also absent at her husband’s Lounge opening.

She also ignored their wedding anniversary on social media and to pass a message across, she uploaded a photo with her sisters. However, her husband who was reported to have been very bitter about the whole saga shared a loving message that read “1 year ago I married my lovely wife Lillian who is God Fearing lady and Super mom to our beautiful son “Jayden”. My love for you both knows no boundaries and I will always find this event to be the happiest moment in my life. Through the good times and challenging times, our union would only continue to grow from strength to strength. Love you lots! Ubi. Onise iyanu” he wrote but the actress made no reply. And in February, another popular actress, Tonto Dikeh joined the train. Her widely celebrated marriage to her rich husband also packed up, precisely a year after they welcomed their baby boy.

Tonto Dikeh’s 17 month old marriage to Oladunni Churchill is reportedly in crises over husband’s alleged infidelity. The actress sparked rumours of her marital crises when she took off the title, ‘wife’ and husband’s name, ‘Churchill’ from her Instagram profile. The couple got married traditionally on August, 29, 2015 at her hometown in Rivers State. The crisis is one of the trending news at the moment as Tonto has moved out of her husband’s home with their one year old child.
