The Ikosi Isheri LCDA branch of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps has addressed its municipal community member to sensitize them on security consciousness and safety tips.

The agency which was present at the Isheri Senior High School Parent Association educated the people extensively about LNSC and implored parent to resist their children from staying out of school after 8 am and during school hours.

The agency laments the worrisome habit of secondary school students as it claims that unsupervised kids can lead to unsafe behavior on school grounds, which can create larger problems, including safety hazards or injuries.

LNSC personnel who spoke to the parents, teachers and principals in a person of Mr. Femi Iloyi that is the DCO for the IKOSI-ISHERI CHAPTER added that the need for a sensitization of parent is really about students’ safety. “We want students to be safe and in a supervised activity while in the school compound,” stated by the DCO.

“The recent announcements and stricter regulations have helped in the decline of the number of loitering students. We are also making sure to be present and are patrolling the schools at all times in order to enforce the rules. They are also making sure that students, who are commonly found loitering, have tasks to keep them busy so they don’t feel the need to roam around the school.

“Students caught loitering are simply directed back to class, but if they are consistently caught doing so, then they are assigned a form of punishment, starting with a call home to their parents to determine what will be done to bring the issue to an end.
“With the effort of the State government to reduce the rate of kidnapping and abductions, which in recent times have been alarming, we are imploring our parents to also help the government by playing their own part in ensuring that the right ethic and morals in impacted on the children”, he added.
