DAVIDO
Davido, who happens to be the biggest and baddest of all times, has been dropping hit songs back to back before he went on a break for over 2 months. As it is known Davido’s songs are the injection, which is gradually felt with passage of time. He has not just been dropping only singles, he has also featured in over 5 songs, which are also hits. Fem is still doing very well. Banging on all radio stations in and outside the country. The DMW big boy has never been tired of making music. He has been chilling with international acts for a long time coming from the likes of Chris Brown, Lil Baby etc.
NAIRA MALEY
Azeez Adeshina Fashola, known professionally as Naira Marley, is a singer and songwriter. He is the president of his controversial fan base, “Marlians”. Naira doesn’t joke with his fans, he knows when to drop a particular jam, he knows what his fans will like to hear at a particular time. All his songs are hits back to back. He recently dropped a song entitled: Idi Ore Mi, a song which talks about the beautiful body of women. This song was only a PR on Instagram after it was dropped, it got more than 1 million viewers on its first day of release.
TIWA SAVAGE
Tiwa Savage proved doubters wrong that she could not come out of controversy and do what she knows best. She is the reigning queen of Nigerian music. She knows where and what the public wants and she gives it to them as it’s hot. She was dishing out hits back to back, featuring notable faces. Her debut album of the year ‘Celia’ has over 10 songs in it, all of them are the most played songs on the radio in the country, and one of the hottest Afro Beats anthems went globally this year. She also dropped her ‘Sugar Cane’ EP back in 2017 with hits like ‘Ma Lo’. Tiwa is the only female Nigerian artiste with over 12 million views on a single video on YouTube this year. She got into the international front. Tiwa Savage has been spotted with the likes of Diddy, Jay Z, DJ Khaled etc, and she has also graced international stages to perform. Tiwa is the biggest female act in Nigeria. She has been giving her fans good music in the past years. She had artistes like Naira Maley, Davido, Steff London, Sam Smith and Dice.
REMA
He is popularly known as Rema, but his real name is Divine Ikubor. He hails from Benin and was born in 2001. Rema is a fast-rising, hip-hop rapper, Afro Pop beat singer, songwriter, entertainer, and recording artiste. Rema started his music career in Benin City, rapping in churches and schools at a very tender age. In school, he went on to create his live band and not quite long, after he was discovered by D Prince, the CEO of Jonzing World Record and was introduced to the Mavins and he signed a record deal with Mavins Records and Jonzing World Record in late 2018. Rema is currently the biggest thing in Nigeria. He dropped an album with over 5 songs and they are all enjoying massive airplay in and outside the country. These songs are mostly played songs on the streets and in parties, you can’t walk two streets without hearing Dumebi, a song that talks about a girl he has always wanted, but she never wanted him.
FIRE BOY
He is better known as Fire Boy, but his real name Adedamola Adefolahan. He hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State. He studied English Language at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he was known for his love for music. His style of music is called ‘Simply Afro’ with the blend of country and soul sound and he describes it in one word as Afro-Life. Fire Boy started singing at a very tender age and didn’t give up his dream. He was discovered by Olamide and was signed on YBNL without delay and he sounds and sings like Adekunle Gold. He recently dropped a single entitled, Jealous, which talks about him being addicted to a girl and he gets jealous suspecting she’s going out with other guys. Then dropped What If I Say, these songs are gaining massive airplay in and outside the country. He gets called all over just to perform this song and the song he currently dropped an album tagged: Apollo with over 16 songs in it.
