The Big Brother Naija 2021 edition is what almost every young adult is talking about now. This edition is tagged Shine Ya Eye. It’s the sixth edition of the show and it always generates a lot of talks and controversies between the fans who are watching the programme around the world, especially in Nigeria. The reality show will last for 72 days and they have already spent over two weeks in the house. The grand prize for this year’s edition is 90 million with lots of gifts.
This week, we shall be looking at the potential of 5 housemates who are fans favourites. These housemates have gained sympathy from fans who are watching the show from home.
The first on our list is White Money. He is an early contender to win this year’s Big Brother Naija show.
The businessman, who said he imports and sells shoes, has caught the interest of many Nigerians, including fans, celebrities and former housemates.
He has since been trending on social media and a lot of big celebrities have been rooting for him. It was a big surprise when popular Nollywood actor, Funke Akindele and Yul Edochie endorsed him for the big prize and they also pleaded to their fans to cast their votes for him.
A few days back, he told one of the housemates, Arin that he’s learnt so many trades and that he’s a fast learner.
In his words: “the hustle is so much that I cannot remember some of the things I did. I did many things. I sold puff puff at Yaba, I and a Ghanaian friend.
“What he does is that: he fries it, and then he’ll use my face to sell it to the UNILAG (University of Lagos) girls. They’ll come and buy puff puff. Very sweet puff puff.” Being open, are some of the things that endeared him to many of his fans.
Another housemate who has also been trending is Roselyn a.k.a Liquorose. A lot of people have said so because of her big following on Instagram. She’s the first housemate in the history of BBN to have reached 1 million followers in a space of days.
She is 26 years old from Edo State. She is a popular Nigerian dancer. She has been dancing since 12 years old because of her popularity before she got into BBN, has made a lot of housemates to suspect her to be one of the wildcards but she’s not.
It’s believed that Liquorose likes one of the housemates, Emmanuel and a few days back, she helped him massage his body.
She’s one of the housemates who will strongly contest for this year BBN prize.
A few days back, she said this while talking to other contestants, that Phyno the rapper surprised her with a sum of N300,000 after she danced to his song.
Speaking of Phyno, she said, “That year, he dropped a song in 2019. I’ve not danced to the song before. Then he said I should dance to it. I said ‘no wahala’.
“That time, he wasn’t in Nigeria. I didn’t even ask him for anything. As I finished dancing, he just sent me 300k and I was like ‘mad’! At that time, I almost charged him like 100k or something.”
One of the housemates to also watch out for is Angel Smith. She’s been causing a lot of drama in the house since day one. She has been trending for her dress and looks.
Angel is just 21 years old from Akwa Ibom State.
She is a funny person and loves to socialise and she’s been entertaining fans with her shape and body.
The housemates held a fashion show last week Wednesday night which had Angel as the host.
However, many viewers criticized her for exposing her body in a revealing dress she wore without underwear.
Her father, who is also her Instagram handler, said that Angel’s dress depicted body positivity.
Alongside a video of her wearing the dress, he wrote, “In case you missed this. Body positivity.”
She’s obviously one of the housemates to watch out for.
Maria is one of the most beautiful housemates in this year edition. She’s has a British accent.
She is a 29-year-old former air hostess, turned realtor who enjoys cooking, exercising, hiking, acting, and dancing. Maria prides herself as being a loving and kind-hearted individual who is always looking for new adventures.
She has been trending from day one and no one suspected her to be a wildcard until Big Brother revealed it. She played the role well and a lot of viewers didn’t want her to be disqualified because she is said to have a good personality. She’s one of the fans favourites.
Pere was the male wildcard who escaped being evicted two weeks back. He was born in Warri, Delta State. Pere was raised by a single mother, and is the firstborn of two children.
He confessed to Biggie during diary session that he likes Maria and has showed it to her on many occasions. She’s trending because of how she got into the house.
Pere is a qualified nurse and served in the United States Military for six years, before coming back to Nigeria to pursue a career in real estate. This vibrant 35-year-old is also a part time actor and model.
But Pere and Maria’s love affair has fallen apart when Pere kissed Beatrice during the dare game in the house.
According to him, he’s no longer interested in Maria because he is a ‘grown man’ and has to move on with his life.
Earlier, Maria revealed that she felt disrespected when Pere kissed Beatrice during the truth or Dare game, after saying he has feelings for her (Maria).
On Tuesday, Maria told Pere face to face that she doesn’t like him.
Beatrice, on her own, felt Pere distanced himself from her because of what Maria told him. A lot of viewers are watching them closely for a possible reconciliation.
It has been made known that this year’s edition hasn’t lived up to expectations but so far, these are just the guys that have kept the energy in the house going.
