OBA BABATUNDE SALIU
Former Kosofe Local Government Vice Chairman, HRM Babatunde Saliu, who became Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom, two years ago is one of the richest land owners in Lagos today. The young king inherited a large parcel of land and currently a lot is been reclaimed from the lagoon.
The highly cerebral and cosmopolitan monarch is celebrating the first anniversary of his ascension on the throne of his fathers. Saliu is without doubt an embodiment of numerous virtues which include diligence, excellence, integrity and many more.
Before he ascended the throne, Saliu, who was raised in Lagos, was the immediate-past vice chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area. Before then, he served as Special Assistant to the former Governor of Lagos, Babatunde Fashola. He was also a senior special assistant on land matters to Governor Sanwo-Olu. And perhaps the big one, Saliu was a Personal Assistant to the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.
His popular choice as the Oba of his homeland is a testament to the growing influence and resultant affluence of this modern-day monarch. A force to be reckoned with in Nigeria’s economic sector, his entrepreneurial exploits readily qualifies him as one of the most audacious businessmen Nigeria can boast of.
OBA WALIU RASAK, ONIBEJU OF IBEJULAND
HRM, Oba Waliu Rasak is the 20th Onibeju. He ascended his throne a few months back. He’s one of the early crowned kings in Lagos. A lot of people say, Oba of Ibeju Lekki should be one of the richest kings in Nigeria considering the number of investments in that area. Apart from this, the king has a lot of land which are sold almost daily to real estate developers.
Ibeju-Lekki is one of the LGAs for the planned Lekki City. With the actualization of the blueprint, Ibeju Lekki is expected to become a central hub for business, manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics.
In Ibeju Lekki, there are on-going and proposed industrial developments such as the Dangote Refinery which is expected to be the world’s biggest single-train facility and estimated to cost $9bn.
OBA ABDUL-WASIU GBOLAHAN LAWAL
His Royal Majesty, Oba Gbolahan, is the king of Iru land, Lagos, and he is one of the youngest kings on the throne,, whom by position inherited a large parcel of land, as an Oba. Presently, he’s one of the richest kings in Lagos. He became the Oba of Iruland about 3 years ago.
He is from the Ojora, Aromire, Shokun and Abisogun branch of Oniru royal families of Lagos State. He became the 15th Oniru of Iruland on 7 June 2020 after the death of Oba Idowu Oniru (Akiogun II) in September 2019.
Oniru, popularly known as Victoria Island extension, is a middle to upper-income neighbourhood in Lagos. Just like Victoria Island, Oniru borders the Atlantic Ocean to the south alongside other creeks and lagoons, providing a lagoon view for most of the high-rise projects within the area. This location is one of the most expensive to buy land or house in Lagos.
OBA TOHEEB YISA ABIDEEN, THE ONIMEDU OF ORIMEDU
HRM Oba Toheeb Yisa is the new Oba of Orimedu kingdom, Ibeju Lekki axis. And he is one of the young Obas who control a large number of land around Ibeju axis. He is rich and educated.
Orimedu is a town by the road before Eleko junction. A lot of real estate firms have moved there because the town is fast developing. Some of the roads are well tarred and there are proper draining system. The New Oba is also adding ice to the cake as he ensures every investor coming to Orimedu contribute immensely to the community.
OBA BASHIRU OLOTO
The newly-installed Oloto of Otto, Oba Bashiru Oloto is another name in the list. Oloto family is rich. They are big property players in Lagos. Talking about a wealthy king in Lagos with affluence and pedigree, Oba Bashiru Oloto’s name will be mentioned.
