It is one burial many won’t forget in a hurry. It took place in Ile-Ife.
On Friday, 14th January 2022 the sleepy town of Ayepe, Moro in Ile-Ife, Osun State came alive, as the town received many dignitaries from far and near, for the final burial of a virtuous mother, Mama Comfort Mojirola Abegbe Ademuyima who died at the age of 107.
One of her children, Dr Sam Ademuyiwa is a US-based doctor, so it was not surprising that many US-based Naija doctors flew into Nigeria to support one of their own. They were in Ife for 2 days.
Apart from the doctors and many professionals who came, many other distinguished guests came.
It was not a surprise to see how very many people trooped out for this burial. Why? Because Mama Comfort Abegbe Ademuyiwa was a great woman in her lifetime, who in one way or the other had touched many lives..
A lot of great things were said about this woman at the Wake-Keep held at her residence in Ayepe. Many of the family members revealed how she brought them up and took great care of them.
One of her US-based sons, Dr Sam Ademuyiwa also described their mother as a virtuous woman and a disciplinarian. “We thank God for the virtuous life of Mama, while she was alive. She would be sorely missed for her many works of kindness and philanthropy during her lifetime. Being a courageous and patriotic person, Mama always dedicated herself to the service of assisting those in need. A life worthy of emulation. Above all, she was true, religious, and a prayer warrior. I pray that the almighty, in his infinite mercies and wisdom, grant her gentle soul peaceful repose in Jesus Mighty name. Goodbye to our iconic and virtuous Mama, grandma and great-grandmother.”
It was a 2-day event. Lying-in-state was held on Thursday, 13th January 2022 at Aiyepe, Moro, Ife North in Ile-Ife.
Church and buriaï service took place on 14th January 2022, at St. Judes Anglican Church, Aiyepe, Moro, Ife North.
Reception and party for Mama Comfort Ademuyiwa took place at Iyeru Ideal Hall, Parakin, GRA, Ile-Ife.
Many of Dr Sam’s friends from abroad came to support him. We can not forget the input of all the members of the Prestigious Club of New York as they dazzled and stood solidly behind their friends and club members.
It was indeed a day of merriment with enough and all kinds of foods and assorted drinks.
All the children and the family members really made statements with their guests. Fuji star, Ramon Akanni thrilled guests with his melodious Fuji music.
Dr Sam Ademuyiwa’s friends from the US all flew in to celebrate with him. He is a member of the US-based Prestige Club.
