Nigeria is a place of history. A country of great minds. Little wonder we are called the Giant of Africa.

Tunde Kelani who clocked 70 years today hails from Ogun State. He attended the popular Abeokuta Grammar school in Ogun State together with some of Nigeria’s creative minds like Fela Anikulapo, Wole Soyinka, Tunji Oyelana, etc

His cutting edge knowledge in Yoruba cultural heritage was as a result of the experience gathered from his grandfather. Growing up with his grandfather exposed him to most of Yoruba ways of life, Yoruba religion, Yoruba philosophy and environment.

Tunde Kelani has made a mark of success for himself in his chosen profession and has spent over 40 years of his life documenting, educating and entertaining the whole world with the promotion of different epic movies under his Mainframe promotions company. His production company Mainframe Films and Television Productions has churned out some of the best theatre and literature adaptations of books and plays to celebrate works of popular Nigerian writers. Most of these books have been adapted into films for the sake of posterity ie Thunderbolt, Oleku, Saworo Ide, Kosegbe, Maami, Arugba, Ti Oluwa Ni Ile, etc .

In pursuant to this City People Entertainment, Evergreen Musical Company together with Members of Music Icons will be coming together to celebrate one of Nigeria’s Foremost Cinematographers who has been the brain behind production of some of the best epic movies in Nigeria .

The organizers of this upcoming event has over the years made it a vocational calling to invest substantially their care, concern, conviction, passion, mind and money into the continuous preservation and promotion of persons that have contributed immensely to Nigeria’s heritage and who have stood out in ground-breaking talent.

In less than 5 years they have jointly combined efforts to recognize and celebrate outstanding personalities from the creative industry. The first was the celebration of Mrs Taiwo Ajayi’s Lycet 75th year’s birthday which took place at Muson Center, Lagos. Also together with Committee for Relevant Arts they came together to celebrate 80 years of a mobile music encyclopedia Mr Benson idonije. Most recently they gave award to over 10 music Icons of Nigeria’s history when Lagos State marked its landmark 50 years Celebration.

Altruism has overtime become their watchword.

As the world celebrates TK I join in wishing him the best that life can give. Hurray to the SEPTUGENARIAN
