Meet The Lady Behind KADUNA’s Roof Top Eatery

Kaduna is blessed with so many eateries but the latest entrant that has stood out and is the talk of the town is the Buggatti roof top restaurant situated on the roof of the popular NNDC shopping mall building along Muhammadu Buhari road. The New Nigeria Development Company Building is owned by the 19 Northern States Government.

In an interview with CityPeople during the official opening of the eatery, which was witnessed by important guests and dignitaries who had come to celebrate the opening, Maryam Sale popularly called Buggatti by friends and family said she had always had a passion for cooking different dishes and experimenting dishes from different countries. “I also took interest from my mum because she is a good cook”. She said

Maryam who’s in her late 20’s and a graduate of Computer Engineering from Kharkov University in Ukraine disclosed that she had always loved cooking during her university days. She and her friends took pleasure in visiting different eateries to experiment on the Ukrainian food and put it into practice, when she got back to Nigeria. “Cooking and the hospitality business has always been my interest”.

Maryam disclosed that what stands Buggatti out from other restaurants in the state is its varieties of food and the timing it takes to prepare them. “There is something for everybody interested in Chinese Cuisine. Our staff are courteous and polite “we also serve mixed continental dishes adding that her idea is to serve every customer his or her own desire according to their budget. “We are neither expensive nor cheap; we give you what you can afford”.

The rooftop restaurant, which is the first of its kind in Kaduna, is Maryam’s dream. “For the past 7 years, I have always dreamed and worked hard to run a top class restaurant.” I am happy with the progress Buggatti is making. We also serve assorted drinks and non alcoholic choice wines.”

The Adamawa born lady, explained that the choice of the name “Buggatti” came about because her friends in school have always called me such and I looked up the name and liked it. “She also disclosed that the eatery is unique because of its ambiance “We have two Arabian palours, the bodes lounge; we also do have delivery, on line booking, event planning and consultancy. We also have a sitting capacity of over 100 customers, and during events we can take over 500 people.”
