Three years after Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu left LSDPC as MD/CEO, he is still fondly being remembered by all the corporation staffers, both junior and senior. We can tell you why many don’t know that for the 3 years he ran LSDPC the Lagos State Governor, completely transformed and overhauled the affairs of that corporation, lifting it to the world- class institution it is today. City People gathered that when he took over on 1st May, 2016, he met a corporation that was crying for help. Once he settled down, he began to rebrand all all the old and archaic structures he met on ground.
Once he resumed on 1st May, 2016, he embarked on a Transformation Agenda & programme meant to rebrand the corporation, in order to regain its position as the market leader, tagged Project Eagle.
He appointed at Harbour Point LTD, a management consultant to stir the transformation with training session to effect a complete re-orientation for entire members of staff. There was renovation of office blocks and entire premises to launch a new brand image. The organisational structure was upgraded with new apartments created to handle essential functions i.e client service and health and safety. Also, existing departments were also aligned for better coordination. He saw to the welfare of staffers. The welfare of staff members was made top priority, while Sanwo-Olu headed at Lsdpc. There was also the renovation of staff quarters and he procured cars for top level management officers. He introduced Health Maintenance Organisation Scheme (HMO). He is the 1st Chief Executive to elevate 3 high-ranking members of staff to the position of General Manager. He instituted annual merit award for staffers which was held twice in his tenure. He honoured staffers retiring within the year. Members of Staff were rewarded with international training and gifts. He identified the gap in skills and filled up the hiatus He recruited young ad vibrant and competent officers via a novel recruitment process, which included written examination and interviews
He upgraded the IT infrastructure by introducing wifi coverage within the premises and Enterprise email for staffers thereby ehancing the e-business status of Lsdpc. He had the vision of making Lsdpc the real estate provider of choice in Africa.
Despite the ailing national economy and dwindling financial resources, he was able to conceive and commence work on various projects within 27 months of his tenure like Adelabu and Olufemi/Ajao Duplexes , Surulere, Ogba medium flats, Oba Ogunji Road, Ilupeju apartment, Olutunda, *Courtland Villa, Igbokusu, Lekki a joint venture with legrande, *Bayview Estate, Elegushi a joint venture with Miss LTD, *Lekki apartments, Lekki Joint Venture with Step Dev. Nig LTD, *Iconic Towers, Sinari Dranijo, Victoria Island, *The avenue , Ogudu Phase 11 a joint venture with Direct Constructions.
