The museum is an initiative which involves the Alaye of Ode, Alayeluwa, Oba (Surv.) Adetunji A Osho, the Owadaniyan II, the Alaye Ode of Ode Remo, and the Group Managing Director, Adron Homes and Property, Aare, Adetola Emmanuelking.

The historic event will be flagged-off on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the palace of the Alaye of Ode.

The event will witness an exhibition of over 1000 awesome artifacts of Remo origin gathered from different parts of the world that will be strategically moved back to Ode.

It is a unique event that is scheduled to coincide with the 10th Coronation anniversary of the king and his birthday.

Therefore, it will be a befitting celebration of coronation amidst the celebration of the very first Museum to be situated in that historic town

As part of the unveiling ceremony, there will be exhibition of antiquities, art recreations of divinities, and treasures of ancestors of the Ode Remo people. The cultural items slated for the exhibition recall the earliest and superb civilization of the Ode people spread across the world and the place of preeminence of the Remo people in the history of humankind.

The cultural items combine to reinforce the belief that, indeed, Ode has come a long way as a settlement for true sons of Oodua.

Speaking about the museum, the Alaye of Ode, credited the actualization of the museum to the GMD, Adron Homes and Properties, Aare Adetola Emmanuelking. He stated that Aare Adetola, who is also the Bobajiro of Ode Remo, has been one of the strong pillars of development of the ancient town, and has not relented in the cause of modernizing the town.

“Aare,  has made us proud and we are not going to forget him easily in Ode Remo. He chaired our Lafoye 33rd celebration in 2018 and we are very happy for being with us and for identifying with us, not only that he also maternally came from Ode Remo. His father is from Ilisan in Remo while his maternal grandmother is from this town; Iya Ogere.

“So the title is not by accident. It’s kind of like a son coming back home and it’s now coming back to now parle with the Kabiyesi of Ode Remo and we thank God for him and we pray for him that he will continue to do wonders”, he said.

The Aare, speaking to newsmen at the palace, expressed his excitement on the success of the museum and park project, and assured the community members that all the artifacts and antiquities that tell the story of Ode Remo shall be retrieved and restored to the museum.

While he commends the king for a running smooth and peaceful community devoid of crime and crises, Aare also assured that Ode Remo will soon become an enviable community and a rallying point for tourists
