The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, took over from Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on November 12, 2016, and since that time till now, Governor Obaseki has been running the state with four prominent Edo Big Boys in the absence of Commissioning, and Special Advisers that are supposed to constitute the State Executive Council.
The governor said that they would run the state with these four big boys who will be supported by the Head of Service and Permanent Secretary of the various ministries, until further notice.
The four big boys who now run the state with the Governor are the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Philips Shaibu, who until his election as the Deputy Governor of Edo State was a member of the House of Representatives, representing Etsako Federal Constituency. Before Honourable Shaibu won election into the House of Assembly, he was Majority Leader in the State House of Assembly. The next is Barrister Osarodion Ogie, who is the Secretary to the State Government. Barrister Ogie was Commissioner for Works and Chief of Staff in ex-Governor Oshiomhole’s administration.
The next is the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Obaseki, Mr. John Mayaki. A very season Journalist, Mr. Mayaki was Executive Director Media in ex-Governor Oshiomhole’s administration.
Last, but not the least, a Mr. Taiwo Akerele, the Chief of Staff to the State Governor. Before he was appointed Chief of Staff, Mr. Taiwo Akerele was in charge of Seefor programme in the state.
