Nigerian Afropop singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, says electoral outcomes in Nigeria have become unpredictable because of the dramas that often follow them.

The music superstar said this while reacting to the sacking of David Lyon, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governor-elect in Bayelsa, on Thursday.

The supreme court had sacked Lyon on grounds that Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, his running-mate, used forged credentials during the November 2019 gubernatorial election in the state.

The court’s verdict — which comes less than 24-hours to his official inauguration — has been trailed by reactions from several Nigerians, including Atiku Abubakar, erstwhile vice-president.

Joining the fray of Nigerians reacting to the issue, the ‘OBO’ crooner said the development is a further indication of the unpredictable nature of Nigeria’s electoral system.

According to him, occupying elective positions in Nigeria is no longer a matter of winning elections and getting sworn in.

“They way Supreme Court dey checkmate men these days ehn ….. no, be here,” he wrote on Twitter.

The development comes few weeks after the supreme court announced the sack of Emeka Ihedioha as governor of Imo state, affirming Hope Uzodinma as winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election.
