Come Sunday 29th May 2020, the delectable actress, Lola Alao’s Foundation will be hosting the first-ever Iconic Black Women Award (IBWA) in Canada at the prestigious Julius Hall 2201 Finch Avenue, West Suite 32 Event.
The Iconic Black Women Award is an award designed to celebrate, appreciate and applaud extraordinary great black women all over the world. Women who have done tremendously well building a name for themselves, while creating a platform for so many other women to follow suit, these women have contributed tremendously to the growth of women empowerment, supporting and empowering women, bringing positively strength and hope to the girl child.
Iconic Black Women will be celebrating women from all shades of lives, who has excelled in their different endeavours. They stand tall amongst the men folds, they are blessed with beauty and brains and command lots of respect in the society.
They have set the pace so high for other women to follow.
The theme of the award is “Women More Than We Think”.
The event shall also serve as a rallying ground to highlight how women can strive for gender equality across our network. Entrepreneurs will be celebrated from across the world, from Dublin to Paris and Nigeria to the United States.
The highly anticipated award will be hosted by the delectable screen diva Iyabo Ojo and highly respected comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka the 1st.
Over 6 distinguished first ladies are confirmed to be gracing the event, and they are. Her excellency Mrs Martha Udoh Emmanuel, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom, Her Excellency Suzzette Nyeson Wike, the First Lady of River State.
Her Excellency, Funsho Amosun, the former First Lady of Ogun State, Her Excellency, Omolewa Yetunde Ahmed – First Lady of Kwara State, Her Excellency, Hajiya Hadiza El-Rufia – First Lady of Kaduna State, Her Excellency, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde – First Lady of Oyo State, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Senator Dino Melaye will also be gracing the highly anticipated event.

The delectable and very stylish actress, Iyabo Ojo and highly respected stand up comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka will be the host at the event. The hosts of the event will also be showcasing beautiful outfits designed by the fashion goddess, Toyin Lawani, as she will be designing most clothes they will be wearing for the event.

She is one actress that believe so much in going for the very best when it comes to putting up or organising event everything is going to be topnotch from decoration, organisation to event proper. She and her team have been working towards the success of this award for over a year now, before settling for the May 29th date.
Lola Alao is a renowned actress cum producer who has spent over 3 decades in the entertainment industry. She started her acting career with a role in the popular soap opera “Ripples”. She also featured in “closet” Super Story and lots of others, before joining Yoruba movie industry. Her role in Yoruba movies such as “Ale Ariwo” and “Eko Wejenle” gave her more popularity in the entertainment industry.
As a producer, she has produced over 40 movies in the cause of her career. Besides acting, she runs her personal business and also runs two Non-Governmental Organisations, one in her daughter’s name, Damilola Ogunlana Empowerment Foundation and the other Lola Alao Foundation. These two foundations has carried out a lot of project such as feeding the less privileged in the society empowering women in the society, fighting for the girl child in the society and proaching against rape, child abuse and so on.
She is often described as a beautiful woman with the heart of gold, who is ready and willing to give a helping to people around her. She has also bagged lots of awards home and abroad as an actress and a humanitarian.
