Iya Alagbo, COVID-19, Abeokuta,

A popular Abeokuta based herbal practitioner, Iya Alagbo Omowunmi Bolupe Akintoye has revealed that having a strong Immune System can help many Nigerians fight against COVID-19 or any disease. She told City People a few days ago that having a strong immune system is a great anti-dote to fighting any ailment or disease.

Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde who was weeks ago down with Coronavirus, when he tested positive to the dreaded disease came out a few days ago to say taking the mixture of Blackseed with Honey and Vitamin C helped him battle his Coronavirus Challenge.

City People then asked Iya Alagbo if Blackseed Oil is good for the body. “The Oyo State Governor is most likely correct because Blackseed Oil (which is called Adin dudu in Yoruba is super, super excellent, in purifying the whole body and detoxification.” What many people need to do at a time like this is to beef up their Immune system. We all need to learn to take a lot of healthy foods, herbs, fruits that can boost your immunity against various ailments”.

She confirmed that Garlic, Tumeric, Lemon, Ginger, Vitamin C and Co can help. “I have heard about Blackseed Oil and a lot of others. But sincerely there is nothing special about it. Naturally, eating Tomatoes, Garlic, Tumeric will destroy all foreign ailment in the body. But naturally, Tomatoes are very good source of Vitamin C and is too excellent for the heart to be healthy”. How about Honey? “Honey is good. We all know that very well. Honey is a miracle healer. If there’s an unhealthy wound, just apply Pure Honey persistently. It does the Magic & drinking about 2 spoonful of honey, every morning before food gives you super skin and free you from germs.”

How about taking Carrots? “Yes, Carrots is super good for vision & contains Vitamin A too. But it must be taken regularly to give it an excellent result”. Which are the other Immune boosters? “Sincerely speaking Tumeric is an excellent fruit and too cheap. It is called ATALE PUPA in Yoruba, just get it into powdered form & serve it with your rice, beans and better still both, in your tea anytime. It purifies the Heart. Many also don’t know that Tatase Pepper boosts Immune system too.”

So, your advice is that everybody should boost their immunity? “Yes. It is important,” she says. How about Cucumber? “Cucumber has a lot of advantages. Its good to eat Cucumber. Don’t forget that WATER when taken regularly purifies the system and it does a lot of super cleaning in the whole body. Cucumber is very refreshing & good at trimming down. It is a good fiber for getting waste out of the system. It contains a lot of water and good to be eaten on an empty stomach”.

“Lemon is also good. You have forgotten Lemon which is super rich in Vitamin C. Don’t forget Vitamin C heals wounds fast & Lemon is very rich in it. One Lemon is richer in Vitamin C than 3 big oranges. But people prefer Oranges to Lemon because of its acidic taste.

Of course, Immunity makes you survive in all ailments. So, once immunity is low, you will fall ill.” Some people have also talked about the efficacy of Dogonyaro. “It is super antibiotics. Anybody who has mouth problem should chew the stick regularly, no matter the infection. Of course you don’t know that it enhances Libido, apart from the fact that the leaves fight Malaria too. Once immunity is low, any sickness is at the doorstep and gets tired all the time. Once your immunity is low you will definitely fall ill”. Now that everybody is at home, what is your advice to many people who live in Yorubaland on how they can stay healthy and strong. Don’t forget that traditionally in Yorubaland the only form of exercise in those days and years was Trekking. But one thing that was too common then was Agbo Here, & Agbo There. And it made them to be very strong. Now, we are back to that system. My advice to people is to reduce the so called Foreign food, take more of Ibepe (PawPaw), Tatase (a kind of pepper, Tumeric (Atale Pupa), Iru (Locust Beans), Melon (Egusi) and more importantly a lot of good water and of course have enough sleep which I strongly believe many people are doing now because of the stay at home order. God bless us all.
