HRM Abisogun II Foundation for Peace and Development (HAIIF) is a private, independent, non-partisan and non-religious organisation, established to contribute to the sustainable development of Iru Kingdom, and Lagos State at large.
The Foundation therefore seeks to empower sons and daughter of the Kingdom as well as other well-meaning Lagosians especially young people and women, to contribute meaningfully to the growth
and development of the State and country.
Through carefully designed social interventions, innovative projects unique to the kingdom, HAIIF will spearhead various multi-stakeholder partnerships and champion social causes in select high-impact sectors across the economy.

An Iru kingdom community with robust infrastructure and security that guarantees a peaceful and sustainable environment.
MISSION
To work mainly with Iru women and youth to make the kingdom secure and attractive for residents and stakeholders by facilitating capacity building and economic empowerment through social enterprise, financial empowerment and mentoring in core operational sectors.
About HAIIF
Upon the ascension to the Throne as the 15th Oniru of Iru Land, HRM Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II; conceived the idea to set up not-for-profit Royal Foundation with objectives to manage developmet interventions and drive multi-stakeholder partnerships with various private, public and non-profit organisations as well as guarantee peaceful coexistence and prosperity of the kingdom taking into consideration the diversity in culture of Iru residents and global nature of the business entitles that operate within Iru kingdom, a mongst others.
At the heart of Iru kingdom development, are women and youth, who make up over 70% of the population. These two categories have been identified as extremely influentiaI stakeholders in determining the trajectory of the inclusive development programs implementation that will positively affect Iru kingdom.
The foundation’S strategy is to focus on working with Iru women and youth platforms to actualize a vision of making Iru kingdom a secure and attractive community for residents and stakeholders by facilitating capacity building and economic ernpowerment ofthe critical demography, via the setting up of social enterprises, and financial empowerment and mentoring of women and youth entrepreneurs in the foundation’s core operational sectors.
key Initiatives
The Iru Empowerment Hub Pilot project The Iru Empowerment Hub Pilot project was launched on the 26th of July 2020 with the foundation supporting 32 women with seed-funding (circa 50,000 NGN) each to start trading in agri-produce. The beneficiaries were supported with entrepreneurial training and skills transfer by experienced mentors, and a tracking scheme has been put in placeto monitor and evaluate the growth of the seed fund. To scale up, about 2,000 more beneficiaries will be recru ited for em powerment over the next 2 years. The beneficiaries are expected to transit to an asset base of 250,000 NGN (in cash & produce) within one year of securing the grant.

Sustainable Livelihoods-Equipping
Iru Social innovation Enterprise Program
One of the objectives of the foundation is the facilitation of Skills acquisition, and jobs scheme to reduce unemployment, crime and unethical behavior among youths in in Iru kingdom. The pilot Iru Empowerment Hub is working to secure resources to meet a target of training, mentoring and tracking growth of the target 2,000 proposed beneficiaries over the next 12 months, which will be the first year in the reign of His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal [ABISOGUN II]. Beyond agriculture, these beneficiaries will be supported to establish micro enterprises that are relevant to the economy of the kingdom and needs of stakeholders.
Thought Leadership and Stakeholder engagement series
There is a need to have a regular convergence of different stakeholder groups particularly the business community within Iru kingdom, to identify constraints to ease of doing business, and possible interventions to prosper the operations of the businesses operating within Iru kingdom, as well as to foster economic development of lru communities. To unveil the foundation, a Sustainable Cities Dialogue (aka Olokun Dialogue) has been designed to annually provide a platform for securing strategic multi-stakeholder partnerships for social investments, innovation and environmental sustainability.The maiden edition of the dialogue has been scheduled for September 2020 to discuss the new realities of socio-economic sustainability in a post-pandemic economy.
Tourism & Environment
The lack of adequate infrastructure like power, well-lit and navigable roads, has negatively affected tourism patronage and development largely in the state, in the past few years, and Iru kingdom. In addition to the earlier enumerated social challenges are lack of adequate water supply to ensure consistent maintenance of cleanliness and greenery of the environment. Iru’s commercial corridor is situated on the shoreline, which presents a huge potential for the tourism industry. Accordingly, sponsorship and collaboration on our proposed activities will be aimed at attaining the following objectives: •Clean up drive in partnership with identified recycling and waste management organisations
•Tree planting initiative in select parts of Iru kingdom, •Clean air initiative focused on the reduction of emissions, to improve air quality, •Sea food festival which will focus on delicacies from aquaculture and other agricultural value chains.

HRM Abisogun II Foundation for Peace and Development was set up to ensure that the prevalence of poverty in Iru-Land is significantly reduced through a series of targeted and specially designed interventions across select areas.
