A popular security expert and political analyst in Osun State, Mr Akin Adeyi, is bereaved; His lovely wife, Adenike Serifat, died two weeks ago. Mrs Adeyi, who was said to have died during a brief illness at age 54, was buried amid tears and tributes on Wednesday. She died 9th September 2020 and was buried Wednesday, 16th September. She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren.
The deceased, in her lifetime, was a popular caterer, who was able to carve a niche for herself. Though she didn’t have it all rosy at the early stage in life, but she managed to acquire basic education and realised her dream of becoming a certified caterer. She got married to her husband on 26th December 1986.
Earlier on Tuesday, family members, friends and admirers of the Adeyi gathered at Kwality Village, Ring Road, Osogbo, Osun State, where a Service of Songs was held in honour of the deceased. The short and emotion-arousing programme was presided over by Pastor Thomas Oloyede of Holyway Baptist Church, Oke Owode, Ogbomoso. The clergy tasked the congregation on the need to be at peace with God and to be compassionate, adding that those who died in Christ have the hope of resurrecting on the judgement day. The late Princess Adenike Adeyi has been described by many as a woman with a pure heart in her lifetime. She was said to be kind, loving not only to her immediate family members but to people generally. No wonder there was free-flow of tears as her body was committed to mother earth about 1: 00 pm within the premises of Baptist Conference Cemetery, Aroje, Ogbomosho. In his tribute, Akin Adeyi acknowledged and extolled the forgiving spirit of the departed, describing her as an industrious and friendly woman of virtue. According to him, the death of Princess Adenike was a colossal loss to the family and she would forever be missed. One of the children of the deceased, Mr. Akintayo Adeyi, described his mother as one in a million, who fought the cause of her children till she breathed her last. He maintained that even in death, her mother would be remembered for her good deeds.

Debo Badru; Dr Bayo Faforiji; Dr Femi Ademiluyi; Oluomo Gbenga Owolabi; Hon. Bimbo Adunola; Hon. Segun Adebiyi; Hon. Funsho Babarinde and Hon. Lekan Oyediran.
Others included: Hon. Taiwo Akeju; representative of Osun State Government; Hon. Gbemi Olufiade; Hon. Ayo Alabi; Hon. Olaitan Abdulsalam; Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu; Prince Adeolu Adeyemo; Mr. Kunle Oyatomi; Mr Kola Olabisi; Mr Shittu Alamu and host of other politicians and frontline professionals.
Political groups and civil societies including Idera de Movement, G62, Osun Leadership Forum, among others were also present at the burial service and internment programme, in honour and memories of the departed Princess, who was popularly called Mama Kwality Village by the family.
