•GMD, BAMIDELE ONALAJA Reveals His Strategies

Saturday 26th June 2021 was the day RevolutionPlus Property Company celebrated the 7th year of existence. The event took place at the newly opened magnificent event centre in Lekki called The White Palms and had the creme-de-la-creme in the society in attendance.

The event kicked off around 5 pm in the evening when the founder and the Group Managing Director of Revolutionplus Property Development Company, Dr Bamidele Onalaja and his wife; the Group Executive Director of the Company, Mrs Tolu Onalaja, stormed the venue. They were both accompanied into the neatly decorated event centre by friends, family and well-wishers.

Let us also tell you that their children who are US-based were also in attendance.

The hall which was beautifully decorated with a majorly purple colour was a beauty to behold.

On the red carpet, the celebrants (couple) ensured they took photographs with their guests as they trooped in from their various destinations.

Some of their early comer guests include Larry Izamoje (Brila FM Chairman), Barrister Toke Benson-Awoyinka (S.A to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Housing), RevolutionPlus Property staffers, and many others.

The appearance of popular compere and comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka, who was the anchor of the event gave many people a clue of what to expect at the programme. Shortly after the media chats and paparazzi on the red carpet, the programme kicked off with Gbenga Adeyinka’s rib-cracking jokes and that signalled the commencement of the programme.

The event started officially with GMD, Dr Bamidele Onalaja’s remarks and that was where he explained what he went through in the last 7 years of the company.

In his opening remark, he said, he thanks God for the opportunity given him to touch many lives. “I could remember 6 years ago when I resigned from my banking job. I just made up my mind I don’t want to earn salary again. It’s a bold step that not everybody can take. I just got fed up. But I worked in a mortgage bank, so I learnt the art of real estate. So I came up with the name together with my wife to form a RevolutionPlus property. 7 years down the line, it’s been so challenging, engaging and fruitful. Like I used to tell people that RevolutionPlus wasn’t set up for profit-making perse but to make every Nigerian a house/landowner. That’s my vision and that’s the plan because Nigeria’s housing deficit keeps increasing by the day and it’s through us we can reduce it.”

“At Revolutionplus, we are so strategic. When we got to the market, we revolutionised a lot of things in the real estate sector. We brought in so many creativities that our competitors weren’t doing then. We changed the narrative and we set the pace.

It’s not by our power but God. People ask me how I was able to do all these within 7 years? But I don’t have a particular answer but God is the answer to my result.

I could remember vividly 7 years ago when we started from a shop at Oyetola Street, Opebi, Ikeja. We couldn’t afford the rent; we couldn’t afford the 3 thousand nairas per week shop. We would have meetings and run away after the meeting because we couldn’t afford the money. So many things we couldn’t do because there was no money. I left the bank so broke. But we were able to get here with a lot of tenacity and focus. I knew the challenges would come but I was focused. That’s the story of the RevolutionPlus Property and God has blessed us with so many staffers now. We started with just one staffer. From that Oyetola Street, we moved to another place on Toyin Street. There we started game-changing ideas. I could remember around 6 years ago when we needed a certain amount of money but we couldn’t get it. It was just 5 million naira to move to the next level in our business. We had to talk to my wife’s friend who introduced us to some people because we had approached banks but they couldn’t loan us money. But my wife’s friend (madam Yemisi) introduced us to a money lender. We started from Roya Haven Garden Mowe and the land at that time had no document, so there was nothing to use as collateral but I told the man to believe in me but the man collected our 2 cars. He told me that if I don’t return the five million he lent me in 30 days he would sell the two cars, but we were so daring. We collected the money and we trekked for 30 days without cars. We just acquired land in Ibeju-Lekki then. We would jump cabs. We did so many daring things just to be successful and to make sure the dream of affordable homes becomes a reality. Within 30 days, we were able to raise the money and we collected our cars. That’s one of the challenges of RevolutionPlus Property. We have gone through a lot. Is it when you buy land from Omo-Onile and when you come back to the land they would tell you the land has been sold to another person? We bought some estates more than 3 times. We paid Omo-Onile 3 times for the same land. Is it the staffers you employed and you expect them to be faithful and they turn to something else? But we are happy we now have wonderful staffers.

BRODA SHAGGI, ODUNLADE ADEKOLA, TOYIN ABRAHAM AND OTHERS DAZZLED

For those who don’t know; Revolutionplus property has many celebrities as brand ambassadors. They are Toyin Abraham, Odunlade Adekola, Testimony Jaga, Broda Shaggi. These four celebrities were in attendance. Others who stormed the venues include Nkechi Blessing, Yvonne Jegede and many others. Their presence obviously added glamour to the beautiful celebration of the 7th anniversary of the company.

WHAT ABOUT NFF PRESIDENT?

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation was in attendance. He came with some of his entourage. Don’t forget that a day before the event, RevolutionPlus and NFF signed a 5-year partnership deal that will run from now till 2026.

S.A to Governor Sanwo-Olu was there too

Barrister Toke Benson-Awoyinka is a Senior Assistance to governor Sanwo-Olu on Housing. You can hardly get through the governor without this woman, especially when it’s related to land/housing matters. She was in attendance all through the night.

DJ XCLUSIVE AND LULI BAND STOOD OUT

The official DJ was DJ Xclusive. He was there early. He arrived at the venue in his latest white Benz. The popular DJ ensured everyone enjoyed their time as he dished out timely songs for the enjoyment and celebration of the 7th year celebration of the company.

While the popular Juju band, Luli, had a good time too. He played for the celebrants for many hours after the official programme had ended.
