Have you taken notice of what some women rock to parties these days? It is the beautiful beaded crown made only for the queens. It is mostly worn by women whom some monarchs have bestowed upon a chieftaincy title. Gone are the days where you will not identify women who have traditional titles to their names but when you get to parties these days, instead of most of the society women with titles to wear the normal headgear, they prefer to stand out in the fully beaded crown mostly in colour white or ivory which sits perfectly well on them.
In fact, this has now become a status thing for this set of celebrity women when they attend events. The most recent was the title being conferred on the former First Lady of Kwara State, Toyin Saraki by the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Gbolahan Lawal. Her crown was a well crafted white crown that sits beautifully well on her head.
How did this new trend really begin? We noticed it started many years back but more prominent in this century on Erelu Kuti of Lagos, Erelu Abiola Dosunmu who has worn this crown for many years. She still wear the crown for A.list social functions to date. This crown has also been sighted on Olu of Iwo’s ex-wife, Olori Chanel who made it more popular within the society scene. Infact she was the first new-generation Olori that loved to adorn this type of stylish crown.Â
She even made hers more trendy by making it in different colours which readily matched her outfits. Bringing it forward, this crown has been seen on many society women now at parties. In fact, they now hold a small staff to corroborate their complete outfit.
Lagos society woman, Toyin Kolade who was recently crowned the Iyalaje Oodua has this crown as well, In fact, this is her style trademark now. She does not tie headgear anymore, she wears her customized white colour crown everywhere she goes, Infact she has adopted the white colour outfit to complement the crown that you can not spot her in any colour of outfit except white.
This is a new fashion trend now, amongst some celebrity women whom have been bestowed with some traditional titles.
